Objective:

To Differentiate Between Gas Turbine Engine and Reciprocating Engine Overhauling Procedures . To Get to Know How Disassembly of Gas Turbine Engine is Being Done. To Know What to Inspect After Disassembling of Gas Turbine Engine , What Clearance or Reading need to be Taken , What Components are require to be Repair or Replace.

To Distinguish between Disassembling and Reassembling Procedures Etc. i. During Removal Rear Compressor Housing is being Removed First Then Followed by Front Compressor Housing. ii. During Installation The Other Way Around , Front Compressor Housing is Reinstall First and Followed by Rear Compressor Housing .

Conclusion:

Disassembly, Inspection & Reassembling of Gas Turbine Engine JE-34WE-36 was successfully completed with the help of our lecturer. We have encounter several problems on disassembling and putting it together into one piece. We were required to use Jack Screw as the Rear Compressor Housing was very difficult to remove . Some of the fasteners thread were already worn . Somehow we managed to disassemble the whole Compressor Housing . On routine inspection, most of the compressor stator vanes had dent and blunted on the leading edge . All of the fasteners need to be replaced . Compressor Housing need to be recoated as corrosive may form on exposed surface . Dye Penetrant Inspection were skipped as unavailability of the material in the workshop. We had a hard time of reassembling the compressor housing , Front Compressor Housing Fasteners Hole wont matched with Cooler Assembly . Trying it to fit it in using mallet was the wrong way as it would create further damage or initiate any crack to elongated . So We had to repeat ; lifting and fitting it slowly and simultaneously . Overall , We found that the engine can only for practical or maintenance purposes as it is no longer serviceable for operation.
