MATERI PEMBELAJARAN Definition of an Analytical exposition text : Analytical exposition is a text which persuades the readers or listeners that something in the case. Generic Structures of an Analytical exposition : Thesis : introduces the topic and indicates the writers position or writers opinion. Argument : which show the reasons behind the opinion. Reiteration : conclusion or restates the writers position. Language features of an Analytical exposition: Focus on generic human and non human participants : many people Connectives elaborating and itemising step in an argument (showing the priority argument): firstly, secondly, etc. Modal verbs : can make, etc Causal conjunction : the cause of an event, such although, because, therefore, etc. Using present tense, such fast food does not need longer time to prepare An analytical text can be found in scientific books, journals, magazines, newspaper articles, academic speech or lectures, research report etc. The example of analytical exposition text

Causal conjunction Fast Food and Our Modern Life Style Thesis Now fast food become our life style. We can not separate them each other. Since fast food was in Indonesia, fast food became very popular for people in Indonesia, from the low level to the high level. The samples of fast food are instant noodle, instant mush, fried chicken, and pizza. Although fast food is very bad to consume, but people still like to choose it for the best solution to solve their problem in manage their time for eating, especially for businessman. Many people like to consume fast food because of three reasons. Firstly, like its name, fast food does not need longer time to prepare. In this modern live, most of the people do not have enough time to cook. So that they think fast food is the best way. They only need several minutes to cook, especially instant noodle and mush. Beside that, they can just call the restaurant which sell kinds of fast food, such as Mc Donald, CFC, or Pizza Hut. Second, fast food tasted very delicious. It available in several tastes, for examples sweet, sour, and salty. It is depend on our choice. Then, fast food has some models that can make us pay attention and want to eat it. We can not deny that fast food takes the main thing in modern living. One of the factor is the tasted that unique. Third, the cost is not too expensive. People from different levels can buy fast food easily. If you have Rp 15.000, you can get one portion of fried chicken and a bottle of tea. It is as same as with the cost of food in general. But most of people rather like to choose fast food because they think there is prestige in consuming fast food. Therefore, fast food become a life style of people, especially for people who life in modern area or city.

IS SMOKING GOOD FOR US?


Before we are going to smoke, it is better to look at the fact. About 50 thousands people die every year in Britain as direct result of smoking. This is seven times as many as die in road accidents. Nearly a quarter of smokers die because of diseases caused by smoking. Ninety percent of lung cancers are caused by smoking. If we smoke five cigarettes a day, we are six times more likely to die of lung cancer than a non smoker. If we smoke twenty cigarettes a day, the risk is nineteen greater. Ninety five percent of people who suffer of bronchitis are people who are smoking. Smokers are two and half times more likely to die of heart disease than non smokers. Additionally, children of smoker are more likely to develop bronchitis and pneumonia. In one hour in smoky room, non smoker breathes as much as substance causing cancer as if he had smoked fifteen cigarettes. Smoking is really good for tobacco companies because they do make much money from smoking habit. Smoking however is not good for every body else.
