2.0 Problem of Immigrants In Malaysia. In this discussion,we will discuss the accessibility of the migraints towards the education system in Malaysia. We would also look forward the consequences and solutions to overcome the problem arising from the existence of migraints to the nation as a whole. Thus,we would suggest the idea on solving the issue arise from their existence. 2.1 Immigrants In Malaysia. As we concerned,Malaysia is a country which is relatively open-state oriented and newly industrialized market company. Malaysia has had one of the best economic records in Asia, with GDP growing an average 6.5 per cent annually from 1957 to 2005. In 2011, the GDP (PPP) was about $450 billion, the third largest economy in ASEAN and the 29th largest in the world. The statistic shows that Malaysia is such a suitable place for immigrants to migrate in order for them to improve their standard of living compared to their own country. Malaysia has been, and continues to be, a major destination country for migrants. The existence of migrants in Malaysia start when the British colonial administration encouraged and facilitated Chinese and Indian labour migration to resolve labour shortages in the plantation, mining and other sectors of the economy. The colonial government generally viewed migrant workers as sojourners, to be repatriated when their services were no longer required. But by the 1930s, large numbers of migrants had formed settled communities and the indigenous Malays increasingly came to regard themselves as economically marginalised in the country (Kaur 2004a). Due to the rise in labour intensive industries, the country is estimated to have over 3 million migrant workers; about 10 per cent of the population. Sabah-based NGOs estimate that out of the 3 million that make up the population of Sabah, 2 million are illegal immigrants. Malaysia hosts a population 2

of refugees and asylum seekers numbering approximately 171,500. Of this population, approximately 79,000 are from Burma, 72,400 from the Philippines, and 17,700 from Indonesia. Malaysian officials are reported to have turned deportees directly over to human smugglers in 2007, and Malaysia employs RELA, a volunteer militia with a history of controversies, to enforce its immigration law. The existence of migraints in Malaysia are through legal and illegal entry.Legal entry means that they enter Malaysia through the legal process by underthrough all the law and requirements needed in order for them to stay in the country.Meanwhile, illegal immigration refers to the migration of people across national borders in a way that disobey the immigration laws of the destined country.Illegal immigrant especially, had created a lot of social problems in Malaysia including increase in violence rates The existence of this group undoubtly cause a serious problem to the country due to the unidentified identity that would make it harder for the authority to find and classified them if there any problem arise in future. During migration, these people would take along their family or relatives to stay in Malaysia. This would create another problem to the government. This due to the fact that their children would grown up without proper education and may leak of care and attention due to their parents which is working. This may create an situation which would lead to the children be exposed to the unlawful activities or misused by unresponsible parties by exploiting their presence. When migrating from one country to another, the issues concerning their welfare are sometimes unmeasured by the authorities.
