Administrative/Strategic

• Built and managed all client relationships growing the company annual revenues from $25,000 to $1.5 million.
• Managed organizational and production budgets to maintain profitability while Maintaining a 30% profit margin for all
projects.
• Lead and managed teams of instructional designers, technical writers, programmers, graphic artists, project
managers, contractors and administrative staff.
• Negotiated long-term strategic business alliances with a global organization resulting in $500,000+ in revenues over 3
years.
• Designed and created a methodology for establishing a quantifiable return on investment for learning and
organizational programs.

Project-related

• Rescued a multi-million dollar, multi-year government contract for client by identifying the root cause of the project
breakdown and making recommendations. The recommendations implemented and the project successfully moved
forward.
• Developed an in-depth strategic and implementation plan for integrating online learning into their existing field and
management training curriculum. Saved the company from investing $150,000 in unnecessary hardware and
$250,000 from prematurely investing in online learning due to a lack of organizational support and alignment.
• Negotiated joint venture between two clients for development of new product. Managed $150,000 development
budged and led team of developers; clients recaptured their initial investment and marketing costs from sale of
program.
• Coached senior level executives through a reorganization and redefinition of their roles from managers to senior
leaders. Quickly gained their trust, eliminated potential turf battles and shifted their tactical orientation to a strategic
one.
• Created and initiated a change management strategy for a new learning program and business processes for account
executives resulting in a successful launch and adoption of the program.

Director, Training Development, 1984-1987

Within two-years, promoted from Customer Service trainer to Director with sole responsible for managing the production
and company-wide implementation of all field training and development programs. Created a new profit center and
revenue stream for the company during my leadership and set new standards of training delivery within the cable TV
industry.

Accomplishments Highlights

• Designed and conducted the first-ever distance learning program conducted via satellite for delivering training to
support a new marketing strategy. This saved the company $40,000 in travel expenses.
• Created first self-paced multimedia training program for customer service resulting in a two-year cost savings of
$925,000. Additionally, it positioned the company internationally as a training/learning innovator.
• Conducted needs and gap analyses to determine curriculum requirements that supported management and
leadership development, technical training, sales, customer service, new marketing strategies, product launches and
strategic business initiatives.
• Designed an integrated curriculum as a self-reinforcing system resulting in a learning continuum and ongoing
reinforcement of requisite skills and knowledge.
• Developed and managed a team of six field trainers. Responsible for developing their skills, conducting on-going
train-the-trainer sessions, monitoring their performance, and conducting performance reviews.
• Managed all training-related vendor selection, negotiation, and management to ensure they delivered to expectations
or better, stayed within budget, and delivered on time.
