Why I Further My Studies We as adults have a variety of reasons to pursue studies in various stages of either a diploma or a degree in higher

education centers . Most of us have goals to achieve specific goals, which got a diploma or degree, and so on. Why should I pursue mu studies? Surprisingly, empty my brain while before I was sure I had plenty of reasons or arguments to answer the question. I went back to ask a question to myself is " Why do I need to extend education to obtain a degree? What are my reasons are limited by that? " No . The reason I continue my studies is because I believe that education is a tool to get out of poverty. I want to change the fate of my family . With a degree, I could be a better teacher. Change is happening at this time in which the world seems without bounds because communication facility and is often called globalization. In the midst of globalization, I will be unable to compete if not their education in college. With their education in college, I expected to be able to compete globally and increase the quality of my life and those around me. Another reason why I have to go to university is because as a woman I want to change the stigma that women are more stupid than men and also the stigma that to be a good wife and mother, women do not need to extend education to college. I believe that educating women means educating a nation, because she will be a mother for their children and the children are budding nation. Educated women will produce a good and smart kids because through education, they can understand better how to educate children . Would not it be smart if their parents are more intelligent then their son ? However, there are also between our study as to join in activities and programs that have been offered as well get a degree. There are also adult learners to pursue science-oriented goals.

They would like to pursue as to have little knowledge of the field of interest for personal satisfaction. However, this category is very small. Most students today have a strong reason to get a degree first because they will be able to upgrade to the position better, getting a promotion, salary increase or income, gain a higher social status and have a 'self-esteem'. For teachers, we can improve the grade of DG29, 32 or so (non-graduate teacher) in the grade of DG41 graduate teacher. In addition to the goal of obtaining a degree that encouraged us to enroll in tertiary centers as a student of distance education, extensive experience in their respective fields of identity can help us (teachers) as a mature adult learners and responsible. Among us may already married, have children, some positions, serving as an officer in the field of professional or private or public organizations, as well as doing volunteer work in their community. But these students attend classes with independent feeling and high confidence to learn. They may not know a lot about the field that followed, but may know more than other areas of the lecturers who teach. Our country has a long practice of adult education through distance education programs operated by local public and private universities, but many foreign universities offer such programs through online learning (on-line learning) and so on. Come on dear educators, so grab a wide-open opportunity to improve their academic qualifications in addition to the pursuit of knowledge and skills in our profession. Adult students enrolled when it is ready to learn. Hence the motivation to learn is so high. In addition to the goals, experience and willingness to learn, they also have the cognitive ability to cope with the learning environment. Two elements are important cognitive skills in students is their intelligence and memory. Gardner, an education specialist in the field of multiple intelligences (multiple intelligences) has stated that intelligence is measured from nine areas of language ability, artistic or musical ability, ability in the field of

mathematical logic, ' spatial awareness ', the ability kinesthetic (bodily - kinesthetic) and internal and external awareness or perspective. While the factors that contribute to a person's intelligence is varied, a person may have a high ability in some areas while other areas decline. Similarly happened to adult learners. Memory elements are operating in three modes of sensory memory, primary memory (short term) and secondary memory (long term). Each memory modes involved in acquiring, storing and retrieving information. Growing belief that states a person's age, will be increasingly difficult to remember such information is not true. Research has shown that only a small temporary memory capabilities (short-term memory) decreases when increasing age (Gardner , 1988). We often give this reason for not wanting to learn more. Is old and not able to learn more because the brain is sluggish and slow, memory is weak and slow and so the reason given for not wanting to pursue education as adult learners. Islam encourages its followers to pursue their studies up to the grave and the Prophet never encourage Muslims to learn the way to China. This shows that Islam encourages its followers to learn even the further extent or any age. Grounds of age and weak mind can no longer be used to avoid us as teachers continue to learn. Current evidences the success of the distance education students around the world shows us that even be a little less memory problems, they still show an overwhelming success in all fields followed in centers of higher learning that offer courses to adult learners. With modern teaching methods and the latest technology, has overcome the problem and can help adult students pursuing their education to successfully obtain a degree. Adult students do not actually get into the classroom as a student with a bare hand. Just be a problem for them is that the time might not allow them to fully self melibakan with teaching and learning activities. This factor requires us to be wise to divide time (time management) between tasks, responsibilities and learn. But the experience of living as a

more mature man can help us manage your time more wisely and overcome learning difficulties and obstacles. I hope I can fulfill all my dreams and at the same time be the idol for my children and pupils as an example a model of lifelong learning. At the mean time I also can challenge myselff to do multitasking activities such as working, studying and at the same time being a wife and a mother. I do find it hard sometimes but I believe there is a silver line in every cloud. All this difficulties will be remembered as long as I life as a sweet moment in my life. I find out that I am still capable to carry out my duties despite all the workload I have to complete. I hope many people out there will be able to pursue their studies for a brilliant future and at the same time will help raise the level of professionalism themselves.
