WHAT IS YOUR MISSIONARY DOING?

Often people ask for a weekly schedule or a typical day in a missionary's

life. That is difficult because each week or day varies. That is one

of the tings we can count on daily.

That day will not go as we plan but

we take each opportunity as it comes to be witnesses to the people we meet and through the circumstances we find ourselves in for that day. But here are the regularly schediiled things on a typical w^ek;

Sunday: Preaching the Word in some churchj afternoon Bible class for
non-Christians5 fellowship and counseling with Christians.

PRAY FOR MORE FAMILIES FOR CHRIST

************************************************************************************************

We want to thank you, who for 31 years since we have come to Japan, have sacrificed and prayed with us. Many of you have written of awakening in the night and praying for us. Many have wept with us when we have had personal sorrow or loss. For you all - it is easy to give thanks!
HOW ABOUT THE BAD THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO US;

Looking back we can see our failures, disappointments and we can say again and again: "How I
wish I had done this or that differently." It is probably the same with you. But the WORD

says; "IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS". So this month, as we pray for you, we are also going back in our memories to give thanks for the troubles, sufferings, failures, and pain because we know, as Paul, the apostle, says; "These things have fallen out for our good,"
WILL YOU SET ASIDE A TIME TO PRAY FOR SOME REAL NEEDS IN JAPAN:

(1) Pray for every Japanese who has ever read a gospel tract, a scripture portion, or the
Bible or ever attended a Christian service of Sunday School or Christian Camp. Pray for those who hear the radio and television programs where Jesus Christ is preached. Pray these
to seek out Christians to lead them to Christ.

(2) Pray for a moving of God's Spirit on the heads of state and for those who print in books, magazines and newspapers that God will use these in an awakening as a result of the sowing of the Good Seed with much prayer over the last 40 years. Pray for the Imperial Family.
(3) MORE BIBLES HAVE BEEN SOLD IN JAPAN THAN ANY NATION IN THE WORLD BUT THE UNITED STATES. Pray that these Bibles be read with life-giving results.

(4) REMEMBER DECEMBER 7, 1981 as the 40th Anniversary since Pearl Harbor. You and I can now see through a tragic war experience how God has opened the doors of Japan as never before, America and Japan are locked into a political and economic partnership. But we pray that Christians in Japan and America might be locked into a spiritual fellowship in Christ Jesus

in a joint spiritual awakening to be used to bring the Prince of Peace to the knowledge of
the entire world.

(5) Pray for the Japanese pastors, the missionaries, and the entire Church in Japan to be purified and revived by the power of the Holy Spirit through the Word and prayer, Hideo Yoshii of Kyushu (whom Mark Maxey was instrumental in bringing into the ministry of Jesus Christ) spoke at the All Japan Convention of Churches of Christ in July of this year. "He used statistics from a recent Japanese newspaper survey in Japan to show that they may be on the verge of a religious awakening and revival in Japan" - quote taken from Horizons,
Sept. 15, 1981, page 6.
OTHER COUNTRIES PRAYING FOR JAPAN.

A church of 10,000 members in Seoul, Korea, is setting aside daily prayer time to pray that
Japan will have 10,000,000 converts in the next 10 years.

May God make 1982 the greatest year in our lives as we join HIS -DIVINE PLAN for each of us.

One man who owns a Tutoring School said, "I am not a Christian, but am very interested in the Bible. The result: Julius and Dale Wilkinson (fellow Christian Church missionary living in Sayama) will teach 3 hours each Sat. once a month in that school. TO HELP WITH OPERATION FACE-LIFT FOR CAMP

Oct. 25 to 30th this year?

KARUIZAWA

When Virginia was in the States in August she talked with the Fenns. Steve Fenn headed the construction crew that came last year to Japan and built Stephen Fleenor's Church-House complex at great savings. Steve Fenn is a contractor as well as a minister of the gospel. We used

our mission funds to pay his round trip fare here in October and he paid for his wife to accompany him. He spent time looking over the camp building for structural soundness and to make drawings and notes and estimates on winterizing and enlarging the main meeting room to make it 18 feel longer. He is willing to come in the Fall of 1982 to head up this project.
THE FINAL LINE; Steve Fenn estimates that for $20,000 we can completely winterize the present

building, put in double-glass windows, paint, repair, insulate and enlarge the multi-purpose
room. The building can then be used 12 months" of the "year instead of 5 months. Steve Fenn is willing to be contractor and help do the purchasing and shipping of all material from Oregon. His wife, Pat, will cook for the crew. WE SHALL NEED 3 volunteer carpenters, who will pay their

own plane fares, and donate 2 or 3 weeks to this ministry.

(Contact Steve Fann, 43202 Christmas

Tree Lane, Creswell, OR 97426 if you are interested) or write us directly. The hope is that V.B.S offerings we receive in June and July of 1982 will amount to the total needed and

materials will be purchased in August and shipped by container so the project can begin the last week of Sept. and be completed by mid-October 1982 ready for a Thanksgiving and Christmas
and New Year snow camp. Then we shall have a serviceable building for many years to come.
