1. AnapplicantshallbedeemedeligibleforfullMembershipintheAssociationprovidedhe orsheisacitizenoftheUnitedStatesofAmericaandeighteen(18)yearsofageorover. 2. InordertoapplyforAssociationMembership,aprospectiveapplicantmust: a) SignandsubmitanapplicationtotheBoardofDirectorontheform prescribedbytheMembershipCommittee. b) ObtainendorsementandsponsorshipofaMemberingoodstandingonsaid application. c) AppearinpersonbeforetheBoardofDirectors,withhisorhersponsor,ata timedesignatedbytheBoard,forpersonalscreeningatwhichtimethe applicantwillbeintroducedtotheBoardandinformedoftheeligibility requirements. 3. TheAssociationshallmaintainaWaitingListnottoexceedthedifferencebetween425 personsandthecurrentnumberofMembersingoodstanding.TheWaitingListshallbe keptpostedontheAssociationsBulletinBoard. a) AnApplicanthavingmettherequirementsofSection2,andwiththe approvalofthemajorityoftheBoardofDirectors,shallbeplacedonthe WaitingListandbegivenaCourtesyCardentitlingsaidApplicantto restrictedAssociationprivileges.Atthetimeoftheacceptancetothe WaitingList,theapplicantshallpaythecurrentInitiationFeetobereturned onlyintheeventheorsheisnotacceptedbytheGeneralMembershipatthe endoftheProbationaryPeriod. b) TheapplicantmustbeontheAssociationWaitingListforatleastsix(6) months,attendthree(3)membershipmeetingsandworksixteen(16)hours atAssociationfunctionsassetforthbythemembershipcommittee,before beingacceptedasaMemberoftheAssociation.ThisperiodontheWaiting ListshallbedeemedaProbationaryPeriod.Duringthistime,anyfailureto abidebytheAssociationBylaws,restrictedAssociationprivilegesfor applicantsontheWaitingList,orgivingareasonableamountoftheirtime andeffortinsomecapacityofserviceonAssociationfunctions,maybe consideredgroundfornonacceptancetotheAssociation,delayin acceptancetotheAssociation,orimmediateterminationfromconsideration intotheAssociation.AfinalvoteofacceptancebytheMembershipshalltake placeattheendoftheProbationaryPeriod. c) OnceontheWaitingList,anapplicantshallpaythecurrentduesandany otherassessmentsonaproratedmonthlybasisbeginningwiththefirst monthofacceptance.Thismoneywillnotbereturnedintheeventthe applicantisrejectedforMembership.

d) AllpersonsplacedontheWaitingListforMembershiptotheAssociation, theirfamilyandguestsaresubjecttoprovisionsoftheBylawsthesameasif theywereaMember. e) TheApplicantwhoistwentyoneyearsofageorolderandwhoperformshis orherWaitingListobligations(attendingthreeregularmeetingsandworks sixteen(16)hoursatAssociationfunctionsassetforthbytheMembership Committee),maygobehindthebarstowaitonMembers,themselvesor guests.TheApplicantmustatalltimeswearanametagwhenbehindthe barwhichwillbeprovidedbytheAssociation.Thisnametagmustbeworn inplainviewtodesignatehimorherasaWaitingListApplicant.The ApplicantmustcomplyatalltimeswithMembershipandbarrules.Failure todosowillbeconsideredConductUnbecomingaMemberandthe Applicantwillbesubjecttodismissal. f) Attheageoftwentyone(21),asonordaughterofaMemberisconsidered anadulteventhoughheorshelivesathome.Ifheorshedoesnotelectto jointheAssociationatthistime,heorshewillnotbeallowedonthe AssociationgroundsunlessaccompaniedbyaMember. g) IfasonordaughterofaMemberisservinginthemilitaryonactivedutyat thetimeofhisorhertwentyfirst(21st)birthday,heorshewillbeeligibleto becomeaRegularMemberoftheAssociationandupondischargefrom activemilitarydutyaslongasapplicationismadewithinoneyearofsaid discharge. h) AMemberhavingobjectionstoanyapplicantontheWaitingListshould submithisorherobjectionstotheproposedMembershipapplicationby appearinginpersonbeforetheBoardofDirectorstopresenthisorher objections. i) AnApplicantwillbeinformedbytheBoardofDirectorsregardingrejection ofhisorherapplicationwithafullreportofcausetotheGeneral Membershipbeforedoingso.Iftherejectionisapprovedbythemajorityof theMemberspresentandvotingattheMembershipmeeting,thenoticeof rejectionshallbesenttotheApplicantbytheSecretaryinletterformwithin one(1)monthafterrejection.IftheMembershipatsaidmeetingdoesnot approvetheBoardofDirectorsrejection,theapplicationshallbeconsidered approved. j) AtthetimeavacancyinMembershipexists(suchasawrittenresignationor deathofaMemberwithnosurvivingSpouse)thefirstpersonontheWaiting ListshallbepresentedatthenextregularMembershipmeetingfor admittanceasaRegularMemberintheAssociationprovidingheorshehas

SECTION3.MEMBERSHIP 1. Anychildundertheageofeighteen(18)mayremainonAssociationgroundsandinthe meetinghallONLYunderthesupervisionofadesignatedMember. 2. EachMember,whetheranofficerorotherwise,willbeexpectedtorespecttherightsof theothersandgovernoneselfbythetimehonoredpracticeofdecencyandfairplay.It isexpectedthateachandeveryMemberwillbewillingtosharetheresponsibilityof promotingthebestinterestoftheAssociationbygivingareasonableamountofhisor hertimeandeffortinsomecapacityofservice. 3. AnnualDuesofallMembersshallbe$130.AnnualduesforLifeandHonoraryLife membersoftheKnightsofColumbusCouncil#4179shallbe$100. 4. TheKnightsofColumbusCouncil#4179willpayanannualnegotiatedmembershiprate of75%ofcollectedduesasofJuly1st. 5. InitiationfeeforanewMemberis$200andshallbepaidalongwithproratedduesat thetimeheorsheisacceptedbytheBoardofDirectorsinaccordancewithSection2of thisArticle. 6. AnnualduesshallbeinthehandsofeithertheTreasurerorPresidentoftheAssociation nolaterthanthefirst(1st)dayofJulyofeachyear.Allothermonies,ifany,shallbein thehandsofeithertheTreasurerorPresidentoftheAssociationnolaterthanthefirst (1st)dayofAugustofeachyear.PaymentofalldueitemscanbemadetoOfficersor BoardMembersoftheAssociationwillingtoacceptthem.OfficersandBoardMembers wouldhavetheresponsibilitytodeliverpaymentstotheTreasurerorPresidentnolater thannoonJuly1st(forannualdues)andAugust1st(forassessmentandotherfeesor charges)ofthecurrentyear.OfficersandBoardMemberswillnotberesponsiblefor thelossofpaymentsmadeincash,norwilllostfundsbeconsideredpaidtothe Association,norwaivedbytheAssociation.PaymentsmailedtotheSSCHAssociation andpostmarkedJuly1st(forannualdues)andAugust1st(forassessmentsandotherfees orcharges)ofthecurrentyearforfullamountofallitemsduewillbeconsideredaspaid inaccordancewiththeBylaws. 7. AMembernotpayingalloutstandingdues,otherfeesandchargesnolaterthanthe firstdayofJulyeachyearshallautomaticallybedroppedfromtheAssociation Membership. a) AreinstatementwillbemadefortheMemberifalloutstandingduesorother feesandcharges,plusa$50.00penaltyfee,aredeliveredtothehandsofthe PresidentortheTreasureroftheAssociationnolaterthanthetenth(10th) dayofJulyofthesameyear. b) AllreinstatementsafterJuly10thofthecurrentyearshallbeinaccordance withreapplyingunderSection2ofthisArticle. 8. AllLegacy,RegularandProspectiveMembersshallwork8hourspercalendaryear duringsupervisedandscheduledAssociationfunctions,eventsorworkdaysatthe discretionoftheBoardofDirectors.RetiredMemberswillnothaveanyworkhours requiredofthemaspartoftheirMembershiprequirements.Requiredworkhoursshall becompletedbytheendofthecalendaryearandassuch,shallbetreatedthesameas annualduestobepaidontime.Failuretocompletesuchrequiredhourswillresultin theassessmentof$75thatshallbeduebytheendofthesaidcalendaryear. SECTION4.IfthisAssociationshalldisbandorifsameshallbedissolved,uponsuchdisbanding ordissolution,theassetsofthisAssociationshallbecomethepropertyofONLYthosepersons whoareLegacyMembersofthisAssociationatthetimeofsuchdissolutionordisbanding,in equalpartsandshareandsharealikeandimmediatelybeforesuchdissolutionordisbanding, theofficersoftheAssociation,byandwiththedirectionoftheBoardofDirectors,shalltransfer andconveysuchassetstothepersonswhoshallbeLegacymembersingoodstandingofthis Associationatthetimeofsuchdissolutionordisbanding,inequalpartsandshareandshare alike. ARTICLEIVBOARDOFDIRECTORS SECTION1.GENERALPOWERS:TheaffairsoftheCorporationshallbemanagedbyitsBoardof Directors.TheBoardofDirectorsshallhavethepowertoestablishandenforceAssociation rulesforthewelfareofthemembersandpreservationofAssociationproperty.TheBoardof Directorsshallhavethepowertospendupto$2,000forindividualexpensesthatshallbe deemedpartofthenormaloperation,upkeepandmaintenanceofthefacilitiesownedbythe Association.TheBoardofDirectorsshallbeaccountabletothemembershipforitsactions. AnyactiontakenbytheBoardofDirectorsmayberescindedbyamajorityofthemembers presentandvotingatanymeeting.TheBoardofDirectorsmaybedirectedtotakeanyspecific legalactionbyamajorityofthememberspresentandvotingatanymeeting. ARTICLEXIAMENDMENTS SECTION1.Thesebylawsoranypartmaybemodified,alteredoramendedatanyregularor specialmeetingofthemembers,calledforthepurpose,providedsuchalteration,modification oramendmentbeadoptedbyatwothirdsvoteofthememberspresent,aquorumoftwelve Membersbeingrequiredatsuchmeeting. SECTION2.TheAssociationmaychangeitsArticlesofAssociationbyadoptingaresolution providingforsuchchangebyavoteoftwothirdsofthemembersthereofpresentatany regularmeetingorspecialmeetingcalledforthatpurpose,ofthemembersoftheAssociation, providedalwaysthataquorumofthemembersbepresentatsuchmeeting,butnosuch changeshallbeoflegaleffectuntilaCertificatethereofverifiedbytheoathofthePresident underthesealoftheAssociationshallbefiledintheofficeoftheSecretaryofState,and recordedintheofficeoftheRecorderofDeedsofSangamonCounty,intheStateofIllinois. ARTICLEXIIMEETINGS SECTION1.TheBoardofDirectorsshallmeetmonthlyinregularbusinessmeeting;itmayhold suchspecialmeetingsasmayberequired.Noticeofsuchregularorspecialmeetingsshallbe authorizedbythePresidentandissuedbytheSecretarybytelephoneorwrittenorprinted noticenotlessthanfivedayspriortotheappointeddatesofsuchmeeting;saidnoticeshall specifythedate,timeandplaceofmeeting. SECTION2.ThemembersoftheAssociationshallmeetingannuallyasprovidedinSection3of ArticleIV.NoticeofsaidannualmeetingshallbeauthorizedbytheBoardofDirectorsandshall beissuedbytheSecretarytoeachmemberoftheAssociationbywrittenorprintednoticesnot lessthanfivedayspriortotheappointeddateofsuchmeeting.
