Intelligent Automatic Plant Irrigation System ABSTRACT

The main aim of this paper is to provide automatic irrigation to the plants which helps in saving money and water. The entire system is controlled using 8051 micro controller which is programmed as giving the interrupt signal to the sprinkler. Temperature sensor and humidity sensor are connected to internal ports of micro controller via comparator,When ever there is a change in temperature and humidity of the surroundings these sensors senses the change in temperature and humidity and gives an interrupt signal to the micro-controller and thus the sprinkler is activated.

INTRODUCTION
s you all know that our country is an agricultural country. !ow a day it is "acksliding due to the lack of knowledge as will as financial pro"lem in every field there is a success, like te#tile, telecommunication, petroleum etc. "ut agricultural is "acksliding. so we want to "ring into your knowledge and some importance$s need our pro%ect. & 'T() T*+ ,- !T *..*/ T*(!0 is "eneficial for the farmer, provides the controlled and automatic system for the plant growth. 1or e#-2 human "eing en%oys many thing of nature "ut he can not live without water, similarly a plant also needs a good fertili3er and a good soil for there growth "ut they are also una"le to survive without water. 4ome time climatic condition can not fulfill the need of the plant, at that time our pro%ect is necessary for the plant to receive the water as per there need. *n summer the climatic condition is very high at that time plant re5uires more water so this small processor "ased unit is used to control the watering system.

NEED OF AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION

utomatic irrigation systems are convenient, especially for those who travel. *f installed and programmed properly, , automatic irrigation systems can even save you money and help in water conservation. 6ead lawn grass and plants need to "e replaced, and that can "e e#pensive. 7ut the savings from automatic irrigation systems can go "eyond that. Watering with a hose or with oscillator wastes water. !either method targets plant roots with any significant degree of precision. utomatic irrigation systems can "e programmed to discharge more precise amounts of water in a targeted area, which promotes water conservation.

1. Saves water - 4tudies show that drip irrigation systems use <:0 - 50= less water than conventional watering methods, such as sprinklers. 9. Im r!ves "r!wt# - 4maller amounts of water applied over a longer amount of time provide ideal growing conditions. 6rip irrigation e#tends watering times for plants, and prevents soil erosion and nutrient runoff. lso, "ecause the flow is continuous, water penetrates deeply into the soil to get well down into the root 3one. :. D$s%!&ra"es wee's - Water is only delivered where it>s needed. ;. Saves t$me - 4etting and moving sprinklers is not re5uired. timer delay as per environment can "e added to the system for automatic watering. 5. He( s %!)tr!( *&)"a( '$seases, which grow 5uickly under moist conditions. lso, wet foliage can spread disease. ?. A'a ta+(e - drip irrigation system can "e modified easily to ad%ust to the changing needs of a garden or lawn. @.
