KBR named preferred EPMS provider for BP project


P has selected KBR as its preferred engineering and project management services (EPMS) provider for the select stage activities of the oil companys Project 20KTM program. Project 20KTM is an initiative investing in technology to enable exploration, development and production of reservoirs that were previously beyond reach. KBR will provide technical design studies and management plans for new technologies, develop program execution plans, conduct risk assessments, determine capital cost estimates and schedule estimates across four main 20KTM systems: drilling, well design and completions, subsea production systems and well interventions and containment. KBR will also serve as the repository for program documentation and as the clearinghouse for supply chain management and procurement services. The project will be managed from KBRs Houston operating centre.

Doosan awarded US$1bn Saudi desal project

oosan Heavy Industries & Construction has received a letter of award worth US$1 billion from Saline Water Conversion Corp for the Yanbu Phase 3 Seawater Desalination Plant project in Saudi Arabia. The Yanbu Phase 3 Desalination Plant will be built with MSF technologies in the industrial city of Yanbu, 350km north of Jeddah, to supply fresh water to Yanbu and the nearby Medina region. The plant will deliver 550 000 tons (121 MIGD) of water, which is enough to meet the daily requirements of 1.8 million people. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract includes equipment design and manufacturing as well as installation and testing. The project is expected to be completed by March 2016.

FW to deliver E&P services for new Reliance paraxylene facility in India


eliance Industries Ltd has selected Foster Wheeler to provide engineering and procurement services for its paraxylene project in Jamnagar, India. This project is part of Reliances multibillion-dollar expansion at its world-scale Jamnagar refining and petrochemical complex. Foster Wheelers work will include detailed engineering, licensor coordination and procurement services for the new paraxylene plant. The project will be executed from Foster Wheelers Indian and UK operations.

Shell plans lubricants blending plant in Indonesia

In Mexico, Transportadora de Gas Natural Norte-Noroeste has awarded Saipem an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a pipeline between El Encino and Topolobampo. The contract covers the engineering, procurement and construction of a 550km gas pipeline, along with two compressor stations to be installed along the route. The pipeline will have a capacity of 670 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.

C$12mn in Australian offshore contracts for ProSep

roSep Incs majority owned South Korean joint venture ProSep Kolon Co Ltd has secured two contracts, together worth C$12 million, for the supply of a seawater filtration package and mercury removal unit. The customers are South Korean engineering firms who are performing EPC work for a large liquid natural gas (LNG) project located offshore Australia. The ProSep equipment is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2014.
