NAME Comments AUSVELS>Mathematics>Measurement & Geometry>Time

Level 3 Achievement Standard: Students tell time to the nearest minute Progression Point 3.5: Students use am and pm notation and identify time between two events Level 4 Achievement Standard: Students solve problems involving time duration and convert between units of time Gabby Abbot Gabby demonstrates a strong understanding of o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to both in analogue and digital format, successfully converting between the two. Her time choices are in the morning and she correctly identifies the time lapse between each event. Gabby meets the Level 4 Achievement Standard.

Lili Clifford

Lili demonstrates understanding of o'clock, half past and quarter past in both analogue and digital format, successfully converting between the two. Her post assessment indicates confusion between quarter to and quarter past, which is different from her pretest where she correctly identifies between the two. She is able to describe time duration to the hour and half hour, but time duration between quarter to and quarter past and vice versa still confuses her. Lili meets the Level 3 Achievement Standard and is still progressing towards Level 4. Alannah successfully shows her understanding of o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to both in analogue and digital format and is able to convert between the two. She demonstrates some confusion between am and pm and is unsure about the spread of hours in a day, indicating she is yet to grasp time duration. Alannah meets the Level 3 Achiement Standard and is still progressing towards Level 4 Rohan demonstrates a strong understanding of o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to both in analogue and digital formats, successfully converting between the two. He correctly uses am and pm notation and identifies time duration correctly. Rohan meets the Level 4 Achievement Standard. Lila demonstrates an understanding of o'clock and half past in analogue and digital formats, successfully converting between the two. Her post-test shows she grasps quarter to and quarter past but lacks confidence in expressing this understanding. Lila meets the Level 3 Achievement Standard and is still progressing towards Level 4. Hugo successfully shows his understanding of o'clock and half past, however requires the use of the clock manipulative and teacher scaffolding. Once he determines the analogue time, he is able to successfully convert to digital for o'clock and half past and correctly identifies time duration for these two times. He struggles with quarter past and quarter to, both in telling and converting as well as determining time duration. Hugo is still working towards the Level 3 Achievement Standard. Marcus demonstrates a solid understanding of o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to both in analogue and digital format and is able to convert between the two. He correctly uses am and pm notation and correctly identifies time duration. Marcus meets the Level 4 Achievement Standard.
