1 Introduction
This document explains how to configure your eWON in order to send out emails and text messages (SMS) using the Talk2M relay ser er!

1.1 Benefits

"t is not necessary to know the SMT#$ser er of the local "nternet connection which ena%les you to use the same settings in all your eWONs! No need to ha e an eWON with wireless modem to send out text messages &or eWONs ha ing a wireless modem' the action of sending out an SMS does not interrupt the "nternet connection!

1.2 What is needed


To %e a%le to use the Talk2M relay you need to ha e a alid Talk2M account! The SMT# ser er address to use is( relay!talk2m!com The detailed procedure is as per ) 2!* SMT# Ser er configuration!

1.3 Costs
Sending an email through your Talk2M account is free of charge! Sending a text message (SMS) through your Talk2M account is su%+ect to a charge! ,heck your su%scription details to know more a%out the amount that will %e charged!

The descri%ed setup is a aila%le from firmware ersion 1!0s7! 2arlier ersions should first %e updated using e.uddy!

2.1 SMTP Server configuration


Im ortant reliminary note( Some "nternet access pro iders do not allow accessing an external SMT# ser er! The SMT# ser er should %e configured as follows(

Note( The email address entered inside the =email from >ser Name? will also %e used to send an error message when a pro%lem occurs during relaying!

2.2 Sending out emails 2+2+1 Tag alarm noti$ication


,onfigure the email notification as usual!

Sending an email to multiple recipients is possi%le +ust %y using a comma ='? %etween different email addresses (no spaces)!

2.3 Sending out text messages (SMS


To send out text messages (SMS)' instead of sending out the SMS as usual' you will send out an email to the SMT# ser er relay %y specifying the mo%ile (ESM) num%er inside the email address! The SMT# ser er relay will then send the text message (SMS) to the indicated mo%ile num%er! That9s why it is important to configure the SMT# ser er settings as descri%ed in 2!* SMT# Ser er configuration e en if you want only to send out the text message (SMS)!

2+1+1 Message reci ient syntax


To send out a text message (SMS) through the SMT# ser er relay we will send out an email using following recipient( mo"ilenum"er2sms+talk2m+com &or the mo%ile num%er format use the international syntax starting with // followed %y the country code! &or example use //770:188FF77Dsms!talk2m!com' to send an SMS to the ESM num%er /0:188FF77 in &rance (country code 77)!

>se the =sendmail? command (not the sendsms command) %y specifying the mo%ile num%er inside the email address( S2NAM;"B C//770:188FF77Dsms!talk2m!com?' CC' CText messageC' CC Only the su%+ect will %e sent ia SMS! The last parameter will not %e taken into account!

1 Talk2M account con$iguration


To %e a%le to send mails and SMS from an eWON through the mail relay proper rights should %e granted to the account! On &reeG accounts' all users (user G admin) are allowed to send out SMS 6 emails! On this ser ice' it is not possi%le to limit the user access to this function! On #ro accounts' it is possi%le to limit the use of the relay to those users %elonging to groups for which the user rights =Mail Sender? and4or =Sms Sender? ha e %een ena%led!
