Kia Ora Everyone, Wow, this term is going so fast. Between rainstorms and taking kids on various outings I'm not too sure where this term has gone! We started off trying to attend the Orautoha Waimarino Cross Country event, but that was quite thoroughly rained out, twice! Next was the Ohingaiti Cross Country, run by Mangaweka School against the Taihape Cluster Schools. Our students did really well with most placing in the top ten in their age events. The following students achieved top three placings in their respective age groups: Hunter Cross - 3rd five year old boys Awatea Hepi - 2nd seven year old girls Maddy Cole - 3rd eight year old girls Kade Gates - 1st eight year old girls Carson Hepi - 2nd twelve and thirteen year old boys Jeshua Keen - 3rd twelve and thirteen year old boys Our next event was the big one, Hunterville Interschool Cross Country. This event is for Years four to eight, with often over fifty competitors in each race. This is not an easy race and all of our students ran their hearts out. We also managed to get three students in the top twenty. Congratulations to: Carson Hepi 20th (Year 6 & 7 boys); Warren Williams 17th (Year 8 boys); and Kade Gates 4th (Year 4 & 5 boys) A little bird tells me his Dad is exploring the possibility of substituting Kade to do the running section of his RFL ;-) Thank you to the wonderful parent helpers and drivers for both trips. The kids could not have enjoyed their trips without you. Now, you would think we would all be tired after all that running, but no, we were on a roll with school athletics beating the weather on Tuesday. A big thank you to the PTIs for allowing us to use their running track and gear. Also a big thank you once again to our parent helpers on the day. Ka kite ano, Marama
