Contact HMS at 717-354-7100, office@hmsk8.org, or www.hmsk8.org Nov. 12, Tues.-Three students present their research on Brethren mission efforts in China at 7:30 p.m., at Elizabethtown Colleges Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studies. Bella DAscanio will discuss the work of two single Brethren women missionaries, Nettie Senger and Anna Blough; Cesar Vera will examine the

impact of the Communist Revolution as Brethren were forced out of China and attempted to return; and Caitlyn Whirt will discuss the evangelistic work of Brethren women and the role of Chinese Bible women. Nov. 13, Wed.-JGA, JBA, and Jr. Youth will meet at Bowmansville Mennonite from 7-8:30 p.m. JGA will be decorating blanket patches for MCC, JBA will be hearing testimonies from senior church members and will play games, and Jr. Youth will have a Missions Night. Nov. 17, Sun.-Children's Church includes a video, longer than the usual allotted time frame, so children may go directly to children's church from Sun. School. Nov. 20, Wed.-District Sewing Circle will be held morning and afternoon at Bowmansville Church. The project for this month will be Infant Care Kits. Difficult situations, such as lack of employment or imprisonment sometimes prevent a mother from being able to properly care for her infant. You can help provide for newborns by making an infant care kit. Sizes 3-9 months. -2 gowns/sleepers (flannel or similar warm, soft material),2 undershirts/ onesies (short or long sleeves), 4 cloth diapers (flat-fold preferred), 1 receiving blanket (lightweight fleece/flannel; min.36 in., 4 safety pins, 1 lg. bar mild soap in wrapper, 1 pr. Socks*, 1 cap. Items can be placed in a bag and brought to the church. Sewing Circle will see they are taken to MCC. Thank you. *Sewing Circle will provide undershirts and socks Dec. 1, Sun.-Centennial Celebration Sunday-Though Gehman Mennonite Church was formed well before 1913, this year, 2013 marks the 100th Anniversary of the building at it's present location. (There was an earlier building across the street.) Bishop J. Carl Sensenig, retired Bishop Luke Horst, Historian, Lillian Weber, and Pastor Phil Horning will each participate in leading this worship service remembering and thanking God for His faithfulness. Photos of our church family and facility will be shared along with a variety of congregation singing over this time period.
