Target Audience-Script: Questions

Focus group ADVANTAGES: You dont have a lot of time then its good for qualitative research, extended mix of responses, it creates possibility for discussion /debate/bouncing ideas, naturally develop ideas once they start being formed, discussion is a more natural way of investigating a subject, links to what we are used to doing in life-discussing and developing ideas. DISADVANTAGES: some people dominated/some people shy, dont always have time for diversions. 1 on 1 Interview ADVANTAGES: tailor the way you elicit the information from the person youre with, more responses, giving a chance to someone who might otherwise feel inhibited, change the pace for the person youre interviewing, can use diversions, better quality of overall response in terms of longer responses because you have more time for each person.

1. Is it clear whats happening in the script? What happened at the beginning? What do you thinks been going on? 2. Does the dialogue fit the situation? Can you give an example of where you particular found it appropriate? Did you find the dialogue realistic? Explain 3. Do you feel that there was an affective balance of intrigue explanation in the beginning of the story? Where did you become intrigued with the script? Where did you feel it explained things well? Do you think the balance was right? 4. Do you understand the problem? Could you, in your own words, say what the main problem? Is that the most important problem, do you think? What issues do you think are being explored around this? 5. Is there an effective balance of dialogue? Where in the story do you think there needs to be more dialogue? Where would you cut some of the dialogue? Lets go into this part of the script, do you think this is well balanced? Do you think there should be more time to anything else? 6. Do you think the stakes are high enough? What are the stakes? What makes them high enough? 7. What was the overall meaning of the story? Where in the script did you get confused? Did you understand the beginning whereWhat did you think was going on there? 8. Do you feel that this script shows a situation that could happen in real life? Could you elaborate a bit? Can you relate it to your real life experience? 9. Would you like to direct it? For what reasons? 10. What emotions do you think the screenwriter was aiming to trigger? Did you feel any of these, or any other emotions? What part of the script made you feel this? Why do you think that is?

11. What part of the script did you find emotionally engaging? Why? Where did you feel most distanced from the script? Why?
