Meditation on Tripura, the One (Shiva/Shakti) in the Three Cities
Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu, Gurur Devo Mahesh Varah. Guru Sakshat Param Brahma, Tasmai Shri Guruve Namah. (Guru means the source of supreme guiding knowledge) Asatoma Sat Gamaya Tamasoma Jyotir Gamaya Mrityorma Anritam Gamaya Om. Purnamadah. Purnamidam. Purnat Purnamudachyate. Purnasya Purnamadaya Purnameva vashishyate Om shanti, shanti, shanti Aum Bhur Bhuva Svah Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi Dhiyo Yo Naha Prachodayat Guru is like Brahma, the creating force. Guru is like Vishnu, the maintaining force. Guru is like Mahesha/Shiva, the dissolving force. Guru enlightens and guides us on the right path. Guru is like our ultimate Reality whom we respect with the highest adoration. Lead me from the unreal to the Real Lead me from the darkness to the Light Lead me from the temporary to the Eternal (the mortal to the immortal) That is infinite (perfect). This is infinite (perfect). From that infinite perfection this infinite perfection comes. From that infinite perfection this infinite perfection added or removed, infinite perfection still remains. On the absolute reality and That in its three planes, On that finest spiritual light, We meditate, as remover of obstacles That it may inspire and enlighten us. We Meditate on the One seeing through three eyes, Which permeates and nourishes all like a fragrance. May we be liberated from bondage (death) for the sake of immortality, Even as the cucumber is severed from bondage to the creeper. The three levels of Om are not me or mine (namaha) and are Shiva (the absolute which is one and the same with Shakti and her evolutes in those three levels/worlds/cities). Sri Vidya / Sodashi Mantra Fifteen/sixteen syllable mantra of Shakti, Divine Mother Om. We meditate on that great beautiful One who lives in the three worlds (literally cities). AUM/Om: Absolute reality which encompasses the three states of waking, dreaming, deep sleep, represented by AUM, the three levels of gross, subtle, causal, the three levels of conscious, active unconscious, latent unconscious, and the three processes of coming, being, and going. The Absolute beyond the three levels is the silence after AUM.
