Control Measures
-Loading and off loading of vehicles will be done by three persons at least at all times due to the weight. _ Hardhats and safety shoes will be worn during loading and off loading of equipment. _ Depending of type of equipment to be off loaded, gloves will be part of PPE. _ Assess the weight of the load and reduce where ever possible. _ Assess the surrounding areas environment and structures. _ Dismantle the equipment / break the load into smaller pieces so that each individual item can be carried safely _ A safe work method for lifting and handling must be agreed and clearly communicated prior to starting the lift. _ There must never be anyone underneath a large load whilst it is being moved between levels -Vehicles will be inspected daily or as prescribed. _ Copies of such inspections must be kept in the vehicle. _ Vehicle driver must be competent and licensed to drive the vehicle. _ Drivers should stop and rest for } 15 minutes every 200 kilometres or after every two [2] hours of driving. _ All Tanzania Fabec personnel and contractors will comply with the Clients 8 absolute rules with regards to driving: _ All persons will wear seat belts at all times whilst travelling in or operate a vehicle; _ Never exceeds the prescribed speed limit; and _ Never make mobile phone calls whilst driving, pull over when it is safe to doso. _ Always wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle

_ Never carry passengers on the back of a pickup _ Nobody should drive when too tired to Concentrate on the road. _ Doors should always be locked when driving and when the vehicle is parked. _ All Fabec & Contractor personnel should be made aware Site clearance *Danger of insects and reptile bite/insects *Dust, reptiles and insects _ All generated waste will be removed from site and disposed of in a safe manner. _ Ad heard to legislation and procedures for the management of waste. _ Waste should only be disposed off at a registered dumping site. _ A copy of such dumping site registration must be filed on the H&S File and a copy to the Client. _ A manifest before dumping should be compiled. _ A return manifest from the registered dumping site should be obtained and filed and a copy handed to the Client. -Care must be taken when cleaning outside site parameter for snakes. -All construction site and maintenance waste [e.g. wire of cuts, tie wraps, etc.] must be removed. -Use of permit system prior to excavate or dig. -Barricading of area -Excavation not to exceed 1.5 metre depth. -Survey to be conducted prior to excavation to check type of soil -Inductions -Place all loose equipment away from excavation area -PPE -Where possible use of back haul equipment for excavation to avoid the use of manpower. -Use of competent and experienced personnel. -A safety watch to be available at all times to oversee the digging.
