NONDESTRUCTIVEEXAMINATIONOFATANK
Completepenetrationandcompletefusionarerequiredfor weldsjoiningshell platestoshellplates. Inspectionforthe qualityoftheweldsshallbemadeusingeithertheradiographic method, oralternatively,byagreement betweenthepurchaserandthe manufacturer,usingtheultrasonic method.Inadditiontotheradiographic or ultrasonicexamination, ,theseweldsarealsovisually yexamined.
Ingeneral,radiographicinspectionisrequiredforshellbuttwelds,annularplate buttwelds,andflushtypeconnectionswithbuttwelds.
