Rules in Computer Rooms

If a computer is left inactive for more than 15min it will automatically lock itself and if the computer is locked for more than 30min, the computer will automatically log off. The computers in the computer rooms restart automatically every morning at 2 am. It is prohibited to use file sharing software or download Copyright, offending or illegal material. For your own security and safety always carry with you your access card, ID-card and a student union card. Never let people you dont know into the computer rooms.

Access/Passage Card
Your access/ passage card allows you to enter computer rooms and study rooms. You get an access/ passage card and a 4 digits pin code from your programme coordinator You will need the pin code to be able to enter buildings during evenings, weekends and holidays If you lose the card please contact ITSupportCenter, itsc@kth.se KTH duty number after working hours +46 (0) 8 790 7700

When you log on to computer

Log in with your KTH.SE user name and password When log in succeed you will be able to access: Your personal home directory H:\ which is limited to 1 GB. Save your files in this area. Access your home directory remotely from https://home.ug.kth.se Your roaming profile H:\Appdata is limited to 200 MB. Your private settings and application settings are saved in your roaming profile. Keep your profile clean . Avoid saving files to Desktop, My Documents or Downloads. A group project area P:\. Printer, which is located in the particular computer room, connects. Printer name format is: Salsprinter-computer_room_name When opening attachment in an e-mail, save the file before continue working and editing the file.

Printing at Computer Rooms

You get 200 SEK credit quota twice a year which you can use to print. Printing quota is updated on July the first and January the first each year. The printer which is located in that computer room is automatically captured on logon. Extended quota can be purchased at the IT SupportCenter or your local IT Support. Before you print, check spelling, preview your document and check printer status. It is prohibited to print on transparencies.
