COSMETOLOGY- (Classes start once per year in August.) CODE I120404- Combining classroom
learning and a working beauty salon will allow students to gain skills in the following areas: Florida

chemical relaxing, thermal pressing and curling; pedicures & manicures; facials, wax, hair removal &
make-up; salon management & entrepreneurship; bacteriology; decontamination, sanitation & infec-

and live commercial kitchen offers instruction in knife skills, principles of cooking, presentation and

poultry, salads, appetizers, canapés, hors d’oeuvres, baking and pastry. Prepare for the Florida Res-

BASIC BAKING COURSES- Students will learn how essential, basic ingredients work together
and how results can be interpreted by all your senses. During class students will comprehend the
function of yeast, proper kneading techniques and how different ingredients can affect the results.

BASIC GARNISHING- Learn to “dress up” your foods. You will learn everything from apple birds

GED TEST
The GED (General Educational Development) test is a battery of five tests designed
to measure the major concepts generally associated with four years of high school educa-
tion. Successful completion of the GED test will earn you a
STATE OF FLORIDA HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA,
which could open doors to home ownership, jobs, promotions,
college and many other opportunities.
Anyone planning to take the GED test must pre-register prior to the testing date.

GED registrant must be Florida residents who are at least 18 years old, or 16-17 years old and formally
withdrawn from high school.
Persons who are planning to take the GED tests must register and pay the following test fee prior to the
testing date: $75 for the complete test; $15 for each individual test. Testing fees may be paid by cash or
check. Please make your check or money order payable to Collier County Public Schools. You must show
a Florida Driver’s License or State of Florida Identification card and Social Security Card. Test fees are
non-refundable.
