2013-011 A Resolution Calling on the Buklod Atenista Member Schools to Externalize the Efforts of Buklod Atenista Status: Approved Authored by: Ateneo de Davao University Ateneo de Manila University Ateneo de Naga University Ateneo de Zamboanga University Xavier University Cagayan de Oro

WHEREAS, the Buklod Atenista is an alliance of the student governments of the five tertiary Jesuit schools of the Philippines; WHEREAS, the 2011 Buklod Atenista Constitution states that Buklod was founded on the 1 Ignatian ideals of excellence, justice, nationalism, and service to our fellow men and women ; WHEREAS, the 2011 Buklod Atenista Constitution states that Buklod strives not only to affect change in their member schools respective communities but for more active participation in the economic, social, cultural, and political development of the Filipino nation and guided by the 2 principles of justice, freedom, and peace in the light of Ignatian values ; WHEREAS Article II, Section 5 states that members of Buklod must be catalysts of change; WHEREAS, Buklod remains to be unrecognized by each institutions respective constituencies and the general public; WHEREAS, recognition is instrumental in the endevaors of Buklod to attain a greater voice in the national-political scene and have a greater leverage when lobbying for our socio-economic advocacies; WHEREAS, in order to better represent the Ateneo schools in the Philippines, Buklod members has to coordinate its efforts as an alliance and to integrate its identity in respective schools; WHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Buklod Atenista shall put the externalization of its efforts a thrust of the Assembly; WHEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Buklod shall employ a uniform branding in its programs and activities through the use of the Buklod letterhead, logo, the creation and the use of a Buklod promotional video, and the use of the Buklod song to entrench the identity of the Alliance in its projects; WHEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Buklod shall prioritize with its member schools any program, fora, or symposia in accordance to any resolution passed in the Buklod; WHEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Buklod Ambassador shall take a frontline role and participation in such program, fora, or symposia; WHEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Buklod shall establish a public accounts in various social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter and an online publication to enrich the alliances communication with Atenean students from the Philippines;

Article II Section 1, and Section 2 of the 2011 Buklod Atenista Constitution Preamble of the 2011 Buklod Atenista Constitution!

WHEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that whenever student government representatives meet with local or national government officials to lobby for issues that are officially supported by Buklod Atenista, it is imperative that the invitation be addressed by the Buklod Atenista and shall have the active participation of the Buklod Ambassador; WHEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all members of Buklod shall take advantage of all oppurtunities to introduce the mission and vision of Buklod Atenista, its organizational structure and procedures, its plan and thrusts, its current efforts, and its relationship with the student government, to its respecitve constitnuency; WHEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that stands and researches done parallel to the thrusts of Buklod be published in each institutions respective online bulletins, on the Buklod social media account, and on the Ateneo Beat when it is in place. WHEREFORE BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that this resolution take effect upon a 2/3 vote of the National Congress. Zamboanga, Philippines, May 31, 2013.
