Genius LM-A
The innovation makes the difference

Genius LM-A is the range for laminated glass cutting that, due
to the innovation of the solutions used and patented by Intermac,
guarantees maximum integration between operator, machine and work
environment, allowing an extreme optimization of space (-20 % of
space compared to other solutions on the market).
Moreover, thanks to the automation of the entire cutting process,
Genius LM-A is able to produce a finite volume in only 60 ,
time threshold that INTERMAC is already in the process of
overcoming by pointing to the new target of 40.

FENZI
inauguration of sales hub
in South Korea
Fenzi Korea, headquartered in Seoul, has started marketing the products distributed by the
Fenzi Group and the Glass Alliance network, such as
glass and mirror paints, I.G. sealants, spacers (in stainless steel, aluminium and special plastics) and providing
ongoing customer service for all product lines.
After 30 years of operation on the Asian and Korean
marketplace, Fenzi started penetrating this area with
Duralux mirror paints, namely the Groups longest
established product line, and later with its complete
product portfolio. On the heels of its growing success
and expanding sales network, the Group decided to set
up a local sales subsidiary.
Highly positive sales results have been achieved
with all product lines, most notably I.G. sealants, such
as Thiover the polysulphide, two-component sealant
that meets the strictest eco-compatibility standards and
Butylver, the poly-isobutylene sealant for insulating
glass primary seal.
South Korea is focusing increasing attention on
product technical performance, also with a view to
complying with the strict standards prescribed by
energy efficiency directives enforced in 2011.
Therefore, the new criteria for thermal transmittance control of IG units will inevitably lead to the use
of high-quality materials and warm edge technologies
that can guarantee enhanced thermal insulation of
buildings.
In the next few years, the increasing focus on energy saving will translate into stronger demand for products such as Chromatech Ultra the next generation
spacer in stainless steel and special plastics delivering
extraordinarily low thermal transmittance values
Chromatech Plus the stainless steel spacer with a
unique and patented design that guarantees improved
stability, or Butylver TPS the new premium quality
thermoplastic spacer developed by Fenzi labs for
Bystronic applicators.
The future for South Korea therefore looks very
bright especially considering the latest developments
in the building industry. Despite the general recessionary climate in this sector worldwide, the numerous
public works promoted by the Korean government will
revitalize the local public construction industry. Last
but not least, South Korea is one of the largest flat
glass consumers, with a consumption rate twice as
high that of Japan and similar to European countries.

three photovoltaic plants in
France
Siemens Financial Services (SFS) announces
that it has signed the financing agreements for
three photovoltaic plants in Corsica, France, for a total
amount of EUR 31.1 million.
The three photovoltaic plants, Calenzana, Coti and Mria,
have a total capacity of about 9 megawatts (MWp) of
renewable energy. This transaction is SFSs Project &
Structured Finance Energy (PSF-E) business units first
European project as sole lender and arranger. The
Projects investment cost will be financed through a combination of equity and debt, with PSF-E providing the
total debt amount. At present, all three plants are fully
constructed and have received necessary technical certificates for grid connection.
The three plants have been developed by Eco Delta
(ED), an independent company that operates in the wind
and solar sectors in France, and an important Siemens
customer. Siemens Energy has been awarded the construction and operation contracts of the Coti and Mria
plants, to which the financing offer provided by SFS was
a strong added-value. Besides acting as EPC
(Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and O&M
(Operation and Maintenance) provider, Siemens supplied
its own inverters for the two projects.
Financing this solar project further demonstrates our
strategy of supporting the Siemens sectors and their
clients with innovative capital solutions, said Kirk
Edelman, CEO of the Project & Structured Finance
Energy business unit of Siemens Financial Services.
Combining Siemens advanced technologies and techni-
cal services with comprehensive financial solutions provide significant added-value to our customers.
The Corsica solar project is the second deal in which
Siemens Energy, SFS PSF-E, and Eco Delta (ED) have
partnered together. In 2011, Siemens put the Les Mes
solar farm at Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in the south of
France on line which can generate a combined peak output of 31 megawatts, supplying approximately 12,000
French households with electricity. SFS PSF-E also participated in the financing of the Les Mes transaction, providing EUR 25 million of the total debt amount raised.
Astris Finance acted as financial advisor to Eco Delta,
whereas Clifford Chance was legal advisor to the lender.
The Siemens Financial Services (SFS) is an international provider of business-to-business financial solutions.
SFS helps facilitate investments, providing commercial
finance, project and structured finance and leveraged
finance solutions with specific asset expertise in the energy, healthcare, industry, and infrastructure and cities markets. Employing more than 2,600 employees worldwide,
SFS supports Siemens as well as other companies with
their capital needs and acts as an expert manager of financial risks within the Siemens Group. As of 30 September
2011, the total assets amounted to EUR 14.6 billion.

minority stake agreement
Guardian Industries has reached an agreement in principle for KGIC LLC, a subsidiary
of Koch Industries, to purchase a minority stake in
Guardian, according to a letter from the Guardian board
of directors to employees.
This announcement to employees came after a comprehensive and deliberate process by the companys
Board of Directors to create a long-term ownership
strategy that aligns the needs of all our stakeholders,
according to a statement from Guardian officials.
The Guardian board has been seeking strategic partners
for the company that would be a cultural fit with
Guardian and respect the Guardian Way, operate large
industrial businesses, and would be willing to hold a
minority stake with influence rather than outright control, according to the letter to employees. Koch
matches this profile extremely well.
Guardian officials expect the transaction to be completed by the end of the year, pending satisfaction of various closing conditions, including regulatory approvals
in a number of countries, according to the letter.

OMPLETE INSULATING
GLASS PRODUCTION
At glasstec, LiSEC will exhibit highend insulating glass machines and solutions,
which are easy to operate and offer the highest
manufacturing quality. Capabilities to fulfil all the
requirements of a wide range of pro-ducts such
as optimized cycle times and ability to manufacture double, triple, or quadruple glazed units and
stepped glass units are a matter of course.
Additionally, LiSEC will introduce an
improved system at glasstec that significantly
enhances the sealing process, particularly at the
corners of insulating glass units. LiSEC will also
show the proven frame bending system BSV45ANK, which is suitable for all common types
of spacer frames.
A REVOLUTION IN REMNANT
PLATE HANDLING AND EFFICIENT
GLASS CUTTING
The LiSEC FlyOver is a revolution in remnant
plate handling and efficient glass cutting. The
intelligent one-row design of the suction bridge
allows it to move diagonally above the entire
glass storage area when no glass is being transported. In this way, the bridge will automatically
follow the shortest path to the next storage rack,
which minimizes cycle times and keeps cutting
machines working at full capacity. This LiSEC
innovation offers another revolutionary advantage, besides the significant time savings
achieved: The Fly-Over renders costly remnant
plate storage systems obsolete by transporting
remnants back to the glass storage area and by
using the storage racks as remnant plate racks.
With the improved ESL/RS cutting table,
LiSEC offers a machine that can cut and grind
glass sheets in one cycle, enabling the maximum overall process speed. This next-generation cutting table has a new look and brings con-

siderable improvements in cycle times and efficiency. Furthermore, a new space-saving breakout system will also be presented at glasstec.

3NEO
The idea behind 3NEO is simple: if the shank
attached to the diamond surface does not wear
why change it? Why not replace just the worn
part, and so reduce both cost and waste? This is
the idea invented, developed and launched by
Pomdi in 2011 as part of the Q-LEAN project to
eliminate waste and lower costs.
Pomdis 3NEO technology means it is only
necessary to replace the worn diamond surface,
helping minimize operating costs.
With 3NEO, glassmakers can lower overheads
while increasing productivity, as it changeover
is 15 times faster than with conventional tools.
Pomdis 3NEO technology also means only
one fiftieth of the stock needs to be kept at the
company. Moreover, thanks to sophisticated
patented locking system, the shank and diamond ring are held securely in place whilst in
use, but can be detached with a simple click
when the worn ring needs replacing.
Pomdis 3NEO diamond rings are universal
and fit any machine, enabling glassmakers to
stock only those in their usual range of grain

PROVEN, REVOLUTIONARY
TECHNOLOGIES
In the laminated glass production sector, customers can obtain information about the
ecolamiline, the new production line, which
enables all versions of laminated glass to be
produced in an energy-efficient manner from
simple constructions through to complex shaped
formats with special films all on a single system. The ecoconvect, the pre-nip system that is
proven and continues to be revolutionary, will be
on display at the trade fair stand. The integrated,
innovative technology enables a homogeneous
heat input that is evident in the quality of the end
product. And the eco part of the product name
has not been given by chance: the radiant heater
technology of the pre-nip controls the energy
consumption to match the size of the laminate,
meaning that a small laminate only requires half
of the radiant
heater output by
comparison to a large
laminate for example.
The convection system also
ensures a homogeneous heating in the
pre-nip, therefore allowing the rational lamination of highly reflective, coated glasses. The
omission of compressed air in the clean room of
the ecolamiline provides both financial and
time management savings in respect of the servo
technology which is seven times less expensive
and offers a further benefits in relation to the
environment.

FLOAT-ON
The handling of flat glass efficiently and
safely can be accomplished with the use of
Alwayse Float-On glass handling units.
In areas such as arrissing, drilling, washing
and assembly lines, Alwayse recommends its
Float-On range, which can be used in dry or wet
tables in the most arduous of conditions, where
glass dust is prevalent from the arrissing/drilling
machines. Because the ball is not held in a body,
the units are easy to clean
and wash. Operating in
harsh working environment
areas, Alwayse recommends regular simple maintenance to check that the
balls are clean, shard free and, most
importantly, level.

ith the global economic crisis still hitting hard,
Glass-Technology International spoke to the
newly-re-elected President of GIMAV - the Italian
Manufacturers Association of Machinery, Accessories and
Special Products for Glass Processing - Cinzia Schiatti.
THIRD-TIME PRESIDENT
G-TI: You have been elected for the third time running as
president of GIMAV two out of three times during the economic crisis!
Cinzia Schiatti: Yes, the situation of the industry is not so
good and thats a bit of an understatement! And logically, like
everybody else, our association and our members also have
problems caused by the lack of cash flow. In any case, we are
always working close to our company members, in order to
maintain the level of operations and information, etc., that we
have had up to now.
In fact, we are continuing our presence at international

GIMAV
Cinzia Schiatti confirmed at the
helm of Italian glass industry
and diverse production runs, but
also because of the possibility for
clients to speak directly to the
owner of the small- and medium
sized company.
GIMAV has continued to move and develop during the difficult years
of the global meltdown, by implementing effective strategies to
promote Italian-made production in markets with a high potential for
Italian glass technology. This will be the starting point for her third
mandate, confirmed the newly-elected chairperson Cinzia Schiatti:
The main goal of the association is to increase the visibility of
producers on the global market by offsetting competition from other
countries. For this very reason GIMAV is present at the topmost
international exhibitions, where it organizes and coordinates the
participation of member companies. The association is also working
on standards, and is constantly in contact with Italian and overseas
government authorities, as well as on communications, by promptly
updating all its members on all the latest news for the sector. Over
the coming years we will continue to work in these two areas, which
are aimed at promoting the quality of Italian products.
After her language studies overseas and 28 years spent working as
sales manager in the company her grandfather Elia Schiatti founded
to build flat glass processing machinery, Cinzia Schiatti was elected
chairman of GIMAV in 2008, one of the most prestigious positions in
the Italian glass industry.
At the head of the overseas trade department in the family business,
she has spent most of her business life taking part in leading
international appointments liaising with the players in the industry,
and overseeing an extensive network of agents and representatives
on leading overseas markets in Europe, US, China, Russia, as well as
Brazil, India and North Africa.
Drawing on this experience during her previous terms in office, Cinzia
Schiatti has been successful in promoting Italian market presence
across the world through GIMAV, by forging the relations that are a
must-have for a worldwide market presence. The Italian sector of
glass-working machinery is highly export-oriented: Italian-designed
and built machinery is well-known and recognized across the five
continents for its quality production. GIMAV groups about 70% of
Italian companies from the sector, where revenues account for 80%
of the turnover and 77% of total exports by Italian producers from
the glass industry.
The Board of Directors of GIMAV is now as follows:
Cinzia Schiatti President
Dino Fenzi Honorary President
Aldo Faccenda Vice President
Dino Zandonella Necca Vice President and President
of Equipment Suppliers Group
Angelo Lovati Board Member and Past President

EVALAM 80-120
The consolidated Evalam 80-120 film is recommended for performing inserts for indoor
and outdoor applications. Its high percentage of
UV filter also enables to extend the life cycle of
the EVA film and increase durability of the
insertion placed in a radiation test for 2,000
hours. The main advantage that Evalam 80-120
has is the ability to work both at 80C and at
135C; not all insertions are able to support
increases in temperature above 100C.
Thanks to its high fluidity, Evalam 80-120 film
enables to create numerous and complex inser-

EVALAM MASSIVE
Evalam Massive is a high temperature EVA
with excellent optical properties, recommended
for indoor or outdoor environments where price
and transparency are important factors and
where external elements are not overly aggressive. Its Haze value can be compared in Figure
1, and UV filtering value that determines the
degree of aging in Figure 4.
Pujol recommends its use with three or four
layers when placed outside, thus dramatically
improving UV values.
EVALAM COLOR
Evalam Color has been developed to work
with temperatures of 120C, providing high
resistance of colour over time. Most Eva Color
available on the market tends to lose colour at
the ends of the corners, when it reaches
temperatures above 100C.
This type of loss of tone can be seen mostly in
colours such as red, where the differences in
colour between the centre and edges of the
glass are evident. To prevent loss of tone, almost
all manufacturers have chosen to process them
with temperatures of 80C giving priority to colour
standardization over duration in time. Evalam
colour items laminated with Hornos Pujol
furnaces are achieved with both colour durability
and uniformity.
The different shades of Evalam Color EVA can
be combines so that with only 11 colours, a range
of more than 270 colours can be created at a lower
cost of stock for rolls of coloured EVA. During
glasstec, new colours will be presented.

CUSTOMIZED SOLUTIONS
Flat glass manufacturers in different countries
face different intra logistic challenges.
Customers main targets are to make logistic
operations inside the factory safer, more efficient,
increase warehouse capacity, follow market
needs and optimize operation costs. Hubtex is,
together with clients, able to develop handling
solutions that meets all expectations.
For a flat glass manufacturer in Brazil, Hubtex
developed a Electric Multidirectional Sideloader
with special pick-up device for the handling of
glass packs in Colares (steel brackets that enable
to crane glass packs). The Hubtex equipment
offered the customer important reasons to justify
the higher investment costs for a better solution.
The customer saved the investment cost for
overhead cranes in the whole warehouse area.
The elimination of crane tracks enbled to construct a much lighter building shell, also leading to significant cost savings. Hubtex
Sideloaders are able to stack glass packs two
levels high, which doubles warehouse storage
capacity, and are also able to handle up to six

offers the GTT series.
This truck is equipped
with a liftable platform
that drives underneath
the A- or L-stillages.
Once the platform
is well-positioned the operator can, with the
platform, lift the A- or L-stillage from the
ground and move it around the factory. The
truck has a very compact design, high manoeuvrability with an extremely small turning
radius. The GTT platform transporter can also
be equipped with a hydraulically rotatable
glass securing system to stabilize glass packs
on the right or left side of the stillage. The
glass securing system is adjustable as per the
height and thickness of the glass packs that
need to be secured. The truck can be equipped
with an operator stand in combination with a
shiftable dashboard for enhanced visibility
during the pick-up and deposit of glass stillages. For long drive distances, the truck can
be equipped with a cross-seat cabin. On
request, a colour camera system is available for
better views underneath the stillage, or special
stillage securing systems to stabilize unsymmetrically loaded stillages.
Hubtex glass transport systems are used nonstop in very hard three-shift applications 365 days
per year, for a total of over 10,000,000 working
hours of experience in glass handling.
Working hours increase continuously, because
even the first machines delivered in 1993 are still
working and doing their job every day. Hubtex
glass transport systems have definitely proven
their high life expectancy and, sometimes, different truck generations come together.

1. Glass heating. The physical fact is, that 4-millimetre glass requires 1.4 kWh/m to elevate
temperature from 20C to 630C.
2. Glass tempering and cooling cannot be really
less than heating. Natural cooling and little
higher unloading temperature assist only
very little. As loading efficiency is often 65
per cent, this means, that 35 per cent of tempering and cooling air goes to waste.
Additionally, blower(s) are idle for a great
portion of time. Furthermore, there are other
mechanical losses. If we consider a loading
efficiency of 65 per cent, a rough figure for
tempering and cooling would be 1.4 kWh/m
/ 0,65 = 2,15 kWh/m.
3. The rest of energy consumption is waste.
When looking at heating and cooling combined
(3,55 kWh/m for 4-millimetre glass) and comparing it to the figures shown in literature, questions arise. The great majority of energy goes to
the heating and cooling. Energy saving efforts

MARKET ADVANTAGES
Most of architectural glass is coated glass,
forcing the majority of glass processors to invest
in convection heating furnaces. Coatings are
getting better and better. Polished silver is generally considered the surface with the lowest
emissivity: 0.02. In the glass tempering business, figures of 0.02 or even 0.01 are sometimes
mentioned, whether such glasses exist or not.
The situation is somewhat unclear. That is why
it is important to remember that it is convection
which increases furnace heating speed.
Therefore higher capacity for clear glass always
means better convection and, consequently, better characteristics for low emissivity glass.
Roller
temperature
control
roller temperature drop even more. High convection on rollers with present well known furnaces has proven to be a very effective stabilizer of roller temperature. Similarly, Smart
Cycle roller heat stabilizers have proven to be
effective due to their high capacity and easy
operation. Figure 4 illustrates the situation with
the main alternatives with 100 per cent loading
efficiency. One hundred per cent loading efficiency is selected for demonstration reasons as
in this condition, top-side radiation or top convection would not assist maintaining roller temperature at a sufficient level. So-called waiting
time, delaying new loads after the previous
load has exited the furnace, is a know method to
reduce roller temperature drop. This, however,
causes capacity loss making operations more
difficult.
Natural results of better heating control and
PROCESS ADVANTAGES
Roller temperature fluctuation is a known
problem with radiation heating furnaces. If the
convection furnace has top convection only, the
top side heating speed would increase 50-150
per cent depending on glass types. A higher
loading rate of cold glass would increase the

INCREASING REQUIREMENTS
The limits of physics can, however, not be
overcome even with the use of perfected glass
formats and highly functional coatings. In the
case of double (insulation) glazing, which has
been used over decades, the limit has already
been reached with a heat transfer co-efficient
(Ug-value) of 1.0 W/m2K. To satisfy the current
heat insulation requirements by law, this value
is absolutely sufficient, but not for future
requirements. According to the European Union
Energy Performance of Buildings Directive EPBD), which came into force in 2010, as early
as January 2021, only nearly zero-energy-
buildings are to be erected in the private construction sector, in other words buildings, which
require almost no external energy supply. For
new buildings, which are used by the authorities
as the owners on an owner-occupier basis, this
requirement will already apply two years earlier. As poorly insulated existing buildings
account for a large part of high building energy
consumption, here too the minimum requirements for heat insulation applying to new buildings have to be satisfied for larger restoration
projects and new extensions.

W/m2K. A questionable development, because
this format brings us back to the starting problem once again. The quadruple pane is just as
heavy as todays conventional triple glass with
standard format.

also available in the champspeed 2in1 version, the first machine in the world that can
break automotive glass with or without a template on one single machine. In addition to
templates that support the glass during the cutting process and ensure a correspondingly
high quality of the break edge, the champspeed 2in1 is equipped with a freely
manoeuvrable underlay that aligns itself to the
break edges. Customers obtain both functions
in one cell and can flexibly switch between
breaking with or without a template. This provides the opportunity to deploy the machine
according to their requirements or orders as
well as to optimize their production processes
at the same time.
Cost reductions in module production with
TPedge
The TPedge module makes an innovative
leap into the production of solar modules and
will also be on display at the Bystronic glass
stand. It is a joint development by Fraunhofer
ISE in Freiburg and the Bystronic glass Group
on the basis of a Fraunhofer patent. Waferbased solar modules can be produced much
quicker and much more inexpensively than
standard wafer modules. Time and cost savings are a consequence of a simplified modular structure and a completely innovative
production technology.
Service wherever our customers need us
Right from the very first minute, Bystronic
glass supports its customers during the project
planning. The customer service department is
then on hand all over the world for the delivery of spare parts and on-site support.
Maintenance contracts and individual training sessions round off the range of services
on offer. The expert contact partners will be
on hand at the glasstec stand to provide information regarding the Bystronic glass service.

CT GLOBAL: two machines in one
Processing is carried out independently on the two fronts of the
machine, equipped with interchangeable plates.
Substituting the two polishing
wheels with two diamond wheels,
the CT- GLOBAL becomes two independent grinders; diamond and
polishing wheel cooling takes place
by direct water system.
Processing tip speed of working is
constant, while grinding speed is
regulated by a special control in
relation to the thickness of the glass.
An important characteristic of the CTGLOBAL is the mounting of the glass
plate, which takes place in vacuum
environment with a foot pedal.
This machine can also carry out different types of work: pencil edges;

Vertical processing,
our distinctive feature
At glasstec 2012, For.El. is presenting its most recent innovations
that enable to process glass sheets
vertically guaranteeing: high productivity, extreme automation and
improved logistics.
An important step forward in running glassworks: with vertical glass working, processes and work safety for operators
is improved, thus speeding up production.
We have designed cutting solutions that have revolutionized glass processing: the glass sheet is transported to the
glassworks and is stored vertically on racks (automated stock
selector), the type of glass to be processed is automatically
selected and loaded onto the vertical cutting table, which cuts the glass to size ready for further processing.
Continuing with vertical processing, we can also include other processed to be carried out on the
edges of the glass sheets, such as the removal (de-coating) of low-E glass to guarantee the adhesion of
sealants during IG unit assembly phases (edge trimming) as well as high-speed and quality arrissing, grinding and polishing of the glass, bringing it to the needed size without damaging the low-E coating.

glasstec 2012:
Hegla demonstrates cutting solutions in real-time
operations
Discover the potential for your success in glass finishing is Hegla's motto at glasstec. More than 1,700
sq.m. of exhibit space (Hall 14, C55/E55) will be used
to show real-time demonstrations of a cross-section of
its product range.
New, patented cutting system for laminated glass (EP
1577273 B1 / DE 10164872 B4)
Expected to stir interest is a system that Hegla will
exhibit for the first time: We are proud to present a
cutting solution for laminated glass, which is capable
of automatically cutting free-form shapes and models
up to 360 degrees, while maintaining the utmost in precision, explains Managing Director Bernhard Htger.
Cutting solutions for float glass and laminated safety glass
The centrepiece of the trade-show booth is a two-line
cutting solution for float glass and laminated glass,
which is jointly fed by a compact loader. As a part of this
configuration, visitors will be able to see two ReMaster
units in real-time operation, which optimize the cutting
results. The buffer stores the residual glass above the cutting system until this material can be optimally used for
the next cutting operation. By performing this process,
the ReMaster unit not only significantly reduces waste
glass, it also reduces manual handling by automatically
retrieving and loading residual sheets, explains
Managing Director Manfred Vollbracht.

Continuous development of demineralization equipment without affecting the method of use of the previous
models; this is, and has always been, the philosophy of Idrotecnica.
After the radical restyling carried out last year on its IDRO RO water demineralization plants, this year, the
already wide range of products also includes three new models with capacity of from 1750 to 2250 l/h.
Compared to the previous models, these new machines feature:
- smaller dimensions about
40% less;
- FlexFlux! System that enables
the automatic flushing of the
membrane at every stop of the
machine;
- the plants are completely
installed on a single and strong
stainless steel skid, thus simplifying installation even further;
- lower energy consumption
between 40 and 48%!
In consideration of their production capacity, these machines are
destined for installation on large
washing machines, or in centralized circuits, and therefore to be
used with more than one washing
machine.
At Idrotecnicas stand, there will
also be the new washable
quarzite and carbon filter WSE

New series of autoclaves to handle any type of flat, curved glass and photovoltaic panels.
The research, development and experience gained in the years, allowed us to present a new generation of autoclaves, suitable to work any type of glass (float, tempered, low emission, translucent, etc.) both with PVB and with EVA.
In the research more and more aimed to saving to optimize investments, we designed a new line of autoclaves
that can stratify and later on make the HST test (Heat Soak Test) with cycles completely in automatic mode.
This new series of machines, thanks to the solutions of thermal insulation adopted (insulations with nano-technologic
materials) and much performing control systems, allow an
energy saving up to 70% compared to the standard autoclaves being in the market now.
Our policy, which until now rewarded us, was to assure to
our customers results in terms of performance, quality and saving, therefore of optimization of the investments, in the aim to
supply a reliable product in time (over 70 plants sold all over
the world).
At our production sites, we can make autoclaves with sizes
from diameters of 1 meter up to 5 meters with length up to
20 meters and over. The raw materials employed, the manufacturing procedure, tests and the continuous monitoring
of manufacturing activities, allow us to assure to our customers the best quality and completely safety in use of the
plants supplied.

After obtaining certification, Mole Moreschi has implemented several changes to its manufacturing and organizational cycle, thus
increasing its international competitive edge in terms of quality and
performance and establishing the company from Bologna as a
leading name in the sector of glass processing tools.
The innovations at glasstec 2012 regard two new binders for
CBMP1 and CBMP2 peripheral grinding wheels designed for specific processing needs.
We will be introducing the binder for the new CBMPF milling cutter, which has undergone comprehensive mechanical redesign with
new materials and sector welding system.
The seam grinding wheels feature a lightweight aluminium
body that places less strain on machine mandrels and reduces
vibration, thus paying particular attention to performance and
noise levels produced by grinding operations in order to lower
factory decibels.
We have developed grinding wheels for the fast-growing solar
panel sector, working in close cooperation with manufacturers of
machine tools and solar panels.
In order to meet market demands, we have also developed a
product for borosilicate glass that provides excellent quality, whilst
striking the right balance between metres processed and profile
deviation or wear.
After the GREEN polishing wheel,
we have also developed ROSA 1 and
ROSA 2 polishing wheels, but with a
frontal diamond wheel in order to
provide top quality finishes.

Pomdi launches 3NEO its revolutionary new technology that will change the way companies use and buy
glass-working diamond grinding wheels and tools
Imagine that if every time a worn tyre had to be replaced on a
car, it was necessary to buy a whole new wheel as well. Not only
TOTAL EXCHANGE TIME 2 MINUTES would it be hugely expensive, it would also be hugely wasteful.
Fortunately, it was soon realized that since the wheel rim would be
less likely to require changing, it would be cheaper and less wasteful to
separate the two components and only replace the worn part the tyre.
Pomdi has reached the same conclusion when it comes to diamond grinding wheels and tools.
After all, whats the point of throwing away the whole diamond
cup grinding wheel when only the diamond surface is worn out?
If the shank attached to the diamond surface does not wear and
can be reused, why not use it again? Why not replace just the worn
part, and so reduce both cost and waste? This is the idea behind
Easily remove ring
3NEO, a new technology invented, developed and recently
launched by Pomdi as part of the Q-LEAN project to eliminate
waste and lower costs.
Pomdis 3NEO technology means it is only necessary to replace the
worn diamond surface, helping minimize operating costs.
3NEO not only lowers overheads, it also raises productivity, as
it makes changeover times 15 times faster than with conventional
tools. Moreover, other than cutting costs and changeover times,
Pomdis 3NEO technology also means only one fiftieth of the stock
Clean surface
needs to be kept at the company.
3NEOs sophisticated patented locking system holds the shank and
diamond ring securely in place whilst in use, but enables to detach
them with a simple click when the worn ring needs replacing.
Pomdis 3NEO diamond rings are universal and fit any machine,
enabling glassmakers to stock only those in their usual range of grain
sizes and types and not a selection of complete tools. With Pomdis
new 3NEO technology, any grinding ring can be attached to any
shank.
Pomdis new and revolutionary 3NEO technology can help:
Click-on new ring
reduce stocks, as the manufacturer or distributor can supply
replacements within 24 hours;
reduce costs by only replacing the worn diamond ring, not the
whole tool;
reduce costs by cutting changeover times when the diamond ring
needs replacing.
Pomdis 3NEO technology enables glassmakers and processors
be part of the revolution sweeping the flat-glass diamond grinding
wheel and tool sector.

Thanks to considerable studies, experience in grinding, and market surveys, TENON has developed the
Automatic Horizontal Seaming Machine TWM with cup
grinding wheels. This design is in response to the needs
and demands of the market, which experiences difficulties with vertical seaming machines that use diamond
belts or V-wheels.
The TWM has excellent working speed, flexibility
and efficiency up to 10 times higher than a standard
double edger.
