MINISTRY OBJECTIVE
I am seeking a Children’s Pastor position, which provides the opportunity to lead children to the saving grace of
Jesus Christ and disciple them in the teaching of His word. I believe that when we were charged with the Great
Commission, it also included the children as well. As Jesus stated Himself in Matthew 19:14, “Allow the little
children to come to me.” Just as the early childhood years are important to mental and physical development,
they are equally, if not more important, to spiritual development. I believe it is the role of the church to partner
with the family in raising a Godly generation to come.
“Train up a child in the way they should go, and they will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

STATEMENTS OF FAITH
God - I believe in one God, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, Creator of the universe. I believe God exists
in three persons; the Father, the Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. All separate, yet all one God as the Trin-
ity.

Jesus Christ - I believe that Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God the Father. He was sent to earth to be born of a
virgin, to lead a sinless life as fully God and fully man. Giving Himself as a vicarious sacrifice for our sins, Jesus
died upon a cross, was buried in a tomb and three days later, physically rose from the dead. Jesus then re-
turned to His Father in heaven to prepare a place for all of us who believe on Him, and one day will return to
take us home.

The Holy Spirit - I believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the trinity and indwells every believer’s life once
they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our wrongs, illuminates the scrip-
tures to us, and encourages our spiritual gifts.

The Scriptures - I believe the Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God. Written by natural man through the
supernatural illumination of the Holy Spirit. As such it is usable for teaching, correcting, and equipping believ-
ers to carry out the work of the gospel.

Human Beings and Salvation - Since the fall of Adam, all human beings are imputed with his sin, and are there-
fore all born with a sin nature. Such a sin nature deserves the penalty of death. However, Jesus Christ died on
the cross as atonement for our sins, thus providing a way to be cleansed for eternity. This gift is just that, a gift.
It cannot be earned or paid for. It is only received by faith in the One who gives it. By accepting Jesus Christ as
personal Savior, you accept His gift of forgiveness and eternal life.

Baptism - I believe in the believer’s baptism by immersion. Baptism is an outward symbolism of an inward
change of the heart. Just as Jesus was buried in the tomb and rose again, so baptism in the life of the new be-
liever symbolizes the death of the old life, burial, and resurrection to walk in new faith.

PERSONAL TESTIMONY
In the summer of 1980, I was five years old attending a Vacation Bible School at my church in Santa Ana Cali-
fornia. It was one of the last days of the week during the closing session of the day, that my life changed for-
ever. That day the speaker gave an invitation asking if any of us wanted to ask Jesus in to their heart. As a
scared little boy, I walked by myself down the isle to meet the helpers at the front of the sanctuary. They lead
me to a room off to the side, and explained the gospel the best a little child would understand. It is there that I
received Jesus into my heart. A few years later I was baptized in Fort Mojave Baptist Church, of Fort Mojave,
AZ. Even though I was born into a “ministry” family, while I was young and into my preteens I lead a some-
what rebellious life. However during my sophomore year of High school, God got a hold of my heart and
called me to youth and children’s ministry. It has been since then, that I have had a burden for children and
youth, and have been serving God in that capacity since.

ABOUT ME
I was born May 1, 1975, to Clyde and Dianne Henkelman, in Phoenix, Arizona. I grew up mostly in Arizona
and California, until moving to Colorado in 1992. In April of 1997 I met Krystal Cox who would become my
bride on December 24, 1997. As we celebrate 11 years of marriage, we also enjoy my two sons, Brodie: 7,
Zayne: 6, and our daughter Chailey: 16 months, and Cayden, our newest little miracle. I enjoy hanging out
with my family and our two dogs and playing around on the computer. I would consider myself a bit of a
“techie” at heart. I love working with children and youth, and am currently pursuing my B.A. in religion and
minor degree in counseling from Liberty University. My wife and I also look forward to a time in the future,
when we may start a joint Family Counseling practice in which we hope God will use us to help individuals
and families alike.
