DISTRIBUTED NETSY SYSTEM

Picture shows full configuration Netsy system. Netsy is build on the latest database technology. Servers provide distributing database over wide area network. Thus Netsy become scalable groupware product that enables users to work together to make enterprise more effective. Netsy scale from single workstation over classic SCADA dual configuration to the enterprise. Most workers time is spent on documenting and communicating business processes. Improving these activities, connecting offices in the enterprise and serving shared data through different applications interfaces is main task of multiuser Netsy system. System, process & historical databases forms core of Netsy WAN database server. System database contain system data configuration such as users & permissions... Process & historical databases contain all real time information (measurements, signals) and commands. Netsy system provide interface to BIS (Business Information System) GIS (Geographical Information System) TCS (Trouble Call System) TIS (Technical Information System) GIS,TIS,TCS,BIS reside on Netsy WAN DB server or could be involved in Netsy system as outer existing server.

STRUCTURE OF NETSY NODE

Graphic Picture Editor is a part of NETSY application which enables creating of vector colour pictures (drawings) of HV networks and MV distribution networks in the fast and simple way. Network picture system consists of topologically connected objects of network with their identifications. Pictures could contain also geographical charts, imported through AutoCad DXF format. They are used for background to drawn network elements. Network Model Integration is the process which automatically creates network model with all their objects from network pictures. Network model consists of network objects data, substation topology, network topology and their hierarchical structure. Network model and pictures are saved in the same database and they are connected logically. All the operation of supervision and control takes part through the network pictures.

External Database Link creates data and relations in non-internal database from network model. The structure of external database must be predefined. Editing data in external database via NETSY is thus fast and user-friendly due to visual identification. Network model data are connected in NETSY system to real-time DBMS (SCADA subsystem), being spontaneously updated in the pictures and followed by topology calculation of HV and MV networks in real-time. Mode of Supervision and Control can be off-line and/or on-line. Process data from station PC SCADA, RTU-s and PLC-s are on-line refreshed. Also process data from Pole-Top RTU in MV network (disconnector terminal unit - DTU) are online refreshed, including on-line control of disconnector substations. The remaining MV network is off-line supervised and controlled.

GRAPHIC PICTURE EDITOR

With Graphic Picture Editor pictures of HV and MV substation single-line and block diagrams can be created. Also global and/or detailed pictures of HV and MV networks, which contain substations connected by lines and transformers, can be created. Editor contains all needed symbols (circuit breakers, disconnectors, switching devices, transformers, ...) and tools for drawing lines, substation frames, buses and textual oriented part of pictures, fixed (object labels) as well as dynamic (object measurement data).

Drawing is simplified with activation of grid control which allow simple positioning of symbols. During the editing the tools can be used for copying, resizing, moving of selected objects. Also the attributes of objects (like colours, levels etc.) can be changed. All the edit operations save picture topology. Graphical editor allows fast object identification enter (for instance: substation objects are organised in fields and sections). The parts of the pictures that appear more than ones (for instance typical fields) can be defined only once and then they can be saved and called in other pictures.

NETWORK MODELLING AND INTEGRATION

Network model contains data of network objects and their interconnected relations which are hierarchical (for instance substation contains voltage levels and transformers which connect them, voltage level contains sections, sections contain fields and fields contain circuit breakers and disconnectors) and topological (circuit breakers and disconnectors of one voltage level are connected in graph; lines and transformers connect voltage levels). The data in network model are dynamic states (for instance switching state, bus voltage state, grounded) and relatively fixed parameters of objects.

Network model is created by network model integration. Network model is incrementally modified by adding new drawing objects. If the same network model object is presented in more then one picture than the integration process will look after the data consistency. Consistency can be program tested. Process of integration can be examined and modified by several dialog boxes. The dialog box in the above figure presents structure of one substation voltage level with its nodes, objects connected to nodes, circuit breakers and disconnectors connected to nodes, lines and transformers connected to nodes.

NETWORK PRESENTATION
The basis of all network operations are network pictures logically connected with the network model. The display space is large (picture can contain whole MV network of one city or area). The orientation on the picture is very easy using searching tools, zoom, scroll, property of defining and naming positions, property of connecting objects with defined positions in the same or other picture. At the same time several pictures, each in its own window can be presented. It is possible to watch the same picture in several windows. Data in all pictures are refreshed (updated) spontaneously depending on the state of network model.

Geographical Information System

NETSY views can also contain Geographic Information Systems GIS charts, which means that it is possible to draw elements of power networks according to the real environment, in WCS (World Cordinate System). It is possible to scroll down, zoom in and out and move around in views that contains GIS images.

The figure above presents above 110 kV and 35 kV networks with their geographic background. The geographic chart is to be imported.

NETSY system enables extremely easy picture creation for medium-voltage and low-voltage networks on land plan with correct metrics and topology. There are numerous symbols for network objects linked to data records. The charts with land plan can be imported. - 10 -

Low-voltage lines and cables on the land plan are connected to feeders on single-line diagram of substation ( for inst. S/S 10/0.4 kV ). Also, the 10 kV ( 35, 110 kV ) lines and cables presented on land plan have logical connection to lines on the 10 kV ( 35, 110 kV ) network picture ( they represent the same entity ).

SUPERVISION AND CONTROL

Supervision and control is done through the network pictures where the statuses and states (entered manually or/and received from SCADA system) of objects are presented. Every change is automatically updated in the network model. Depending on the object type the change is effected in the network topology state (connection, loop, multiple supply from incoming feeders) in all pictures and entered in the list of events, effecting the various external network calculations. The change of switching state of circuit breakers and disconnectors automatically provides the new working network topology, the new separated sub networks, loops, and multiple supplies from incoming feeders for MV substations. Following the working topology and voltage state (measured or manually entered) the objects are coloured accordingly.
