RLWMFC 1-3 Creswell Black Diamond Red Lion hosted Creswell Black Diamond this week at the home

of football, Loundsley Green park. Creswell sat bottom of the table so it was an ideal opportunity for the Lion boys to put last weeks poor performance behind them and get back to winning ways. Further personnel and system changes were made with gaffer Andy Brear deciding to go back to the 3-5-2 system. Fletch was back and Gav returned to the starting line up in place of that Italian kid and Ricky Strong, who looked to take Brears 15 minute explanation pretty well. Lion were 1-0 down within 10 minutes, a free header from a corner allowing the Creswell to take the lead. They continued to pose problems going forward with a couple of lively players, especially the striker who weighted Robley off the ball at least 34 times in the first half. Lion pressed for an equaliser throughout the first half but as in previous weeks the boys were toothless in attack and although some of the build up was good the quality in the final third needed to be better. The goal came though, as late in the first half Rich Harrold ran onto a long diagonal ball from Robley and finished reaaaaalllllllllly well from around 25 yards out. Richs long running legal battle with Gareth Bale prevented him from celebrating with his trademark heart shape hand gesture which was a shame for the 17 fans in attendance. At half time the usual petty arguments took place but assistant boss and high end fashionista Foggy sorted things out and gave the boys words of encouragement to go and get the win. Unfortunately, it was to be another poor second half display from Lion as it yielded a further two unanswered goals from the visitors. Some hesitant defending led to an easy finish to make it 2-1 and a further goal conceded from a corner finished things at 3-1. Although it seemed at times Lion were shooting in on goal and wasted some really good opportunities credit must be given to Creswell who defended the lead very well. After the game we tried to catch up with Chris Gill but the midfield lothario was in no mood to chat and attempted to two foot tackle the cameraman who was rushed to hospital. He was heard boasting of a wheelchair job minutes later. Manager, Andy Brear gave us his thoughts on another disappointing defeat. I thought we let that one slip through our fingers to be honest, its a game we should have won. I just cant seem to put my finger on the problem at the moment.
