Design a wireless capacitive sensor detection system with power line communication for liquid volume of intravenous drip

measurement
Abstract
Generally, the quality of the medical-care services offered for the patients is greatly dependent upon the labor power of the nurses. The works for the nurses are diverse and simple or repetitive such as the measurements of the patient's blood pressure and temperature, drug transportation and medication. Here a capacitive sensor is used to measure remain level of the drip in the drip-bag and operate the micro- controller to send data measured by the sensor using the 2.4 GHz ISM bandwidth. These measured data are sent to the PC monitoring system through the power line communication.

Existing System:
In traditional method the drip level in the drip-bag is checked continuously by the nurse or by their relatives to avoid re-flowing of blood into the bag. So this method requires a human in presence to monitor the level flow. There may be lot of errors in human checking. Hence we go for proposed system.

Proposed System:
In this proposed system, the drip level is going to be measured by placing capacitive sensor near the drip bag and depend upon the low level condition the controller will send the data in wireless mode to the intermediate section which consists of PLC Module. And from the intermediate node the data is transferred to the Main node i.e. nurse section with PC and PLC module using PLC modem. So the nurse can know the view the drip level from PC in wireless and PLC mode.

Advantages:
The drip level status is transmitted to nurse section which is in remote place in real time. Its response time is higher than other wireless communications.

Applications:
This system will be very useful for hospitals and clinics.

It can be applicable for clinical laboratories.
