(1) Festival of the Laity - November 13 - 16, 2013 The East Jamaica Conference Festival of the Laity started on Wednesday evening November 13, 2013 as planned under the theme "Ignited by His Power" . The Festival will run from November 13 -15, 2013 at Golden Acres in Golden Spring and at the Hagley Park SDA Church on November 16, 2013. On Sabbath November 16, 2013, keynote speaker Pastor Everett Brown, President of the Adventist Church in Jamaica will give words of inspiration. EJC President Pastor Adrian Cotterell will also give words of hope and encouragement to the church. Special awards dinner in this the 'Year of the Laity' will be held at the V.H. Percy Centre on November 17 at 2:30pm. A contribution of $1,200.. will be required for each person attending the dinner. Click Here to See Festival of the Laity Program Outline -1-

(2) Postponement of Spirit of Prophecy Day @ Half Way-Tree Church - November 23, 2013 The East Jamaica Conference Spirit of Prophecy (SOP) Day previously planned for November 23, 2013 and announced in last week's Advisory has been postponed until further notice. Director of Spirit of Prophecy, Pastor Owen Thomas, apologizes for any inconvenience this change in date may cause. (3) Change of Venue for Pathfinder Festival 2013 - November 24, 2013

Please note that the annual Pathfinder Festival will be held on the grounds of the Jessie Ripoll Primary School, 26 South Camp Road Kingston 4 on November 24, 2013 commencing at 9:00am. (Premises are located near the Stoplights at the Traffic Court on Camp Road). ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET...LETS GOOOOO!!!!

(4) Notices from the Sabbath School / Personal Ministries / Community Services Department

1. Metro Mission 2014 (MM 14) Meeting All ministerial interns, Bible workers and other
evangelistic workers (Zone 4) are invited to attend a special meeting on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Morant Bay SDA Church at 10 a.m. and Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 9 a.m in the EJC Chapel for Zones 1-3.

2. Lay Workers MM14 joint meeting Zone 3, November 24, 2013: (A) Personal Ministries leaders
meet at 9 a.m., (B) Prison Ministry Association general meeting & election of officers @ 10 a.m. (this was previously planned for November 10) in the EJC chapel; (C) Adventist Community Services (ACS) leaders and volunteers @ 10 a.m. in the boardroom for their election of officers; (D) Personal Ministries leaders in MM14 @ 12 noon in the boardroom. All MM14 cluster Community projects coordinators are invited to attend, in the boardroom at 12 noon.

3. Zones 1-3 Senior Citizens Convention will be held on Sabbath, November 23, 2013 at the Constant
Spring SDA Church, 9:30 a.m. and Zone 4 Convention at Morant Bay SDA on November 30, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. The Banquet (Zones 1-4) will be held on Sunday, November 24, at the Police Officers Club, starting at 3 p.m. cost $1000. The deadline for payments is November 7. We seek your support. Belated birthday greetings to our seniors, born January to October & happy birthday to our November celebrants; wishing you good health and long life. See poster below for further details.

4. Reminding all Sabbath School Superintendents to ensure the conduct of the Parent Care Group
(PCG) & Operation Reclamation and to register the relevant names to the MM14 Initiative.

(5) Important Notice From the Health Ministries Department

1. All Health Professionals and members of the Adventist Health Volunteers are invited to the annual AHPA meeting to be held at EJC office board room on Sunday the 17th of November at 9am. Special guest speaker will be pastor Adrian Cottrell ,President of East Jamaica Conference. 2. On Sunday the 24th of November at 9:30am there will be a Hiv/ aids seminar at the Half Way Tree SDA Church. All are invited especially our pastors and elders, this seminar will be conducted by Ministry of Health in collaboration with the EJC Health ministries Department. All participant will be certified.

(6) Youth Ministries Department Update 1. Exam Re-sit: The date for the re-sit is November 17, 2013 on the grounds of the Kencot SDA Church, starting at 8:00am sharp! Please contact your Area Coordinator and/or your Club Director. BE ON TIME!!! 2. Youth in Leadership Month: The month of November has been designated as Youth in Leadership Month. Consequently, all churches are encouraged to allow the youth to take charge of the various church programmes, elect a mock church board and officers to function, under guidance, for the month. This is a means of training our youth to effectively function as leaders within our churches. SUCCESS!

Youth Congressoree: You are encouraged to start planning for this NOT TO BE MISSED
function, which is scheduled for December 20 & 21. Friday night @ Half Way Tree Church and on
Sabbath @ Karram Speid Auditorium, Merl Grove High. Guest speaker will be Pastor Keith Morris out of the USA. Plan to be there!!!

Youth Awards Banquet: The annual Youth Awards Banquet will be held on December 22, 2013
at Hotel Four Seasons, 18 Ruthven Road, Kingston 10, starting at 5:00pm. The ticket cost remains the same as last year, at $3,000.00 each. Guest Speaker Dr. Calnette Williams; MCs Adiese Jonas & Jovan Whyte. Application Forms & tickets can be obtained from your area coordinator/youth larders or be downloaded (application forms) from the Youth Ministries Department (EJC website @ ejcsda.com). Deadline for submission of ALL FORMS is November 29, 2013. See Poster below for additional information.

5. YOUTH CONGRESS, Guatemala 2014: The Inter-American Division is asking that we pay immediately 50% of the registration fees for all delegates going to Guatemala in 2014. We are requesting that each field pays US$40.000 of the US$80.00 per delegate according to your quota for the registration fee by or before Monday, November 18.

(9) Special Events Happening in some of our Churches The Millers Pathfinder and Adventurer Club of the King's Seventh Day Adventist church will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary during the week end of November 15-17, 2013. There will be a Vesper service on Friday, November 15, 2013, a grand Pathfinder's Day celebration on November 16, 2013 and a banquet at the Police Officer's Club on November 17, 2013. The banquet cost is $2000.00 Adults and $1000 for children under 12 years.

By doing so your friends just might see or hear something on our page that could bring them closer to the Lord. (11 Communication Workshop For Zones 1 - 4 - Nov. 24- 2013

Please note that this workshop is for elected Communication Leaders & Assistants as well as Audio Visual (A/V) Team members in Zones 1 - 4 ie all churches. This workshop will be practical so take your digital camera if you own or have access to one. Take your laptop personal computer along if you own or have access to one. We will be sharing information with you for you to take back to your church regarding the upcoming MetroMission 14 Campaign. It is therefore imperative that representatives from every church attend. Pastors and elders, please ensure at least one person from your church is in attendance at this event. See poster below for further details.
