DESCRIPTION OF THE LEARNER: The learner is either a male or a female consulting in the emergency room due to any complaint, and needs to know more about infection control measures. He or she is able to speak, read, and understand tagalog and english, and is of any educational attainment. The patient is willing to learn about infection control measures. LEARNING NEED: Infection control measures. LEARNING DIAGNOSIS: Knowledge deficit: Infection control related to lack of exposure. GOAL: The patient will be able to demonstrate the correct hand washing technique and enumerate other infection control measures. BLOS At the end of 20 minutes of health teaching, the client will be able to: 1. Enumerate correctly the different routes of transmission of organisms. 2. Enumerate correctly when to wash his or her hands. 3. Demonstrate correctly how to do proper hand washing 4. Enumerate correctly all of the other ways he or she can do to control infection in his or her home.
