Common Core Standards: Older Toddlers Recall information over a longer period of time without contextual clues. Reenact a sequence of events accomplished or observed at an earlier time. Display a picture schedule of daily routines and ask children what happens next throughout the day. Provide dramatic play props and invite children to play previous events or experiences. Anticipate routines. Link past and present activities. Invite children to reenact a favorite story using props or flannel board pieces, etc. Lesson Summary: For morning play time play an ABC song, having circle time where and ABC video, during afternoon play time play the ABC song and have puzzle with the ABCs on them, for arts and craft have ABC stamps. This will get the children to begin to recognize the ABCs and remember the ABCs. Estimated Duration: -Morning play time= 30 minutes for 5 days -Circle time= 10 minutes for 5 days -Afternoon play time= 1hour for 5 days -Craft time= childes choose of time Commentary: The challenges are being able to get the students to sit for 10 minutes. To get the students to interact with the video encourage the children to dance and sing with the video.

Instructional Procedures:

Day 1-5 When kids begin to arrive the ABC song will be playing while encouraging the kids to play, this will continue till circle time. For the first 10 minutes after play time the kids will have circle time where an ABC video. After noon play time will begin after nape time and last for one hour during this time the ABC song will be playing. Art and craft time will consist of the kids taking ABC stamps and stamping them on a piece of paper and the child will do this as long as may wish. While the kids start to be picked up by their parents the ABC song will be playing.

Pre-Assessment: For the pre-assessment will consist of me look around the room at the children and from day 1 though 5 count how many kids are singing along with the song. Scoring Guidelines: Seeing whether or not the kids are singing along with the ABC song. Post-Assessment: A week after the lesson during circle time, sing the ABC song and see how many kids are singing along. Scoring Guidelines: Seeing whether or not the kids are sing and if they remember the song.

Differentiated Instructional Support If the child already knows the ABCs then during circle time have the child sing along with the video and then during arts and craft have the child stamp the ABCs in order on the piece of paper.

Extension I will send home a paper explain the lesson to the parent and include a link to the storybird book/video I will have made and hand out the paper on the first day of the lesson. This will get the kids to continue to hear about the ABCs once they leave the class room.

Homework Options and Home Connections Having the parents play an ABC song and playing the video with the link I will have given then so that the kids continue to listen to the ABCs.

Interdisciplinary Connections Books with ABCs and a felt board with ABCs, also have snacks with ABCs on them. Having art of the ABCs around the classroom.
