RESOLUTION 0031-1314

A Resolution Reminding the University Athletics Office to Prioritize Student-Related Activities on the Use of Athletic Facilities WHEREAS, stated in Article III, Section 1, of the 2005 XU-CSG Constitution, the XU-CSG shall be the highest seat of student governance of Xavier University. Its officers shall represent its constituents in all university bodies and other association, both within and outside of the campus, which directly affect the students welfare and interests. WHEREAS, stated in Article III, Section 3, of the 2005 XU-CSG Constitution, the XU-CSG shall pursue for the implementation and enforcement of the Magna Carta of Studen ts Rights, Responsibilities and Welfare for undergraduate students of Xavier University. WHEREAS, stated in Article III, Section 8 of the Magna Carta of the Students' Rights and Responsibilities for Undergraduate Students of Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan, the students shall be provided with adequate and up-to-date academic facilities including classrooms and laboratories, library, athletic and recreational facilities. WHEREAS, stated in Article V, Section 3.5 of the Magna Carta of the Students' Rights and Responsibilities for Undergraduate Students of Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan, student organized events and other university events shall be given high priority in using university facilities than external entities. WHEREAS, it is the right of every student to use school facilities not only for academic purposes but also for athletic and recreational activities such as General Assemblies, Community Building, College Days, College Sports Fest, etc. WHEREAS, there were instances that external entities were given priority rather than studentrelated activities. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, this resolution takes effect upon the approval of 2/3 of the Directorate members, sitting en banc, and thus allows and gives priority to the students who would like to use the school facilities. Done this 15th day of November, 2013 at the Central Student Government Office, 2 nd Floor of the STC Building, Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan, Cagayan de Oro City, by the 20th Directorate in session assembled.
