The moment limiter, rvhich is located on the main member at the counter-jib foot, is of a pair of elastic plate, three micro_inching limit switches as well as :r,"1:.:"d installation suppoft. adjustable screw, housing und ,o on. When hoisting with load, the elastic prate began distorting (the distance between the two p-l-ates became sma,er) due to the action of load moment. The stuctue and hoisting winch of the tower cr.ane are calculated and designed in accordance u,ith maximum load. It is fobidden that the wol*ing load exceeds the max. load. The load limiter MSWL is a safeq, device to prevent the towel. crane fton.r
overload.
I
When passing though the proving ring pulley of hoisting wire rope, the rope produces tension due to the action of load. The tension was transmitted to the proving ring (9) ich coLnects with the pulley. As the load changes, the proving ring begins distoting, as well as the metal plate (10) which equipped with inching switches (2,4, 6 and 7) and adjustable screw (1, 3, 5 and g). According to the requirenent of the load, via proper adjustment, the inching switch (2, +,6 and 7) was depressed so as to control the circuit.

Periodical inspection for fastening bolt of slewing ring (type eWA1390.5OZt) Frequency of inspection: After the initial 100 hours, running ofthe slewing ring, the pretension ofthe bolt should be inspected. After this, it should be inspected every 500
hours. Enough pretension should be maintained.
At the
of
the bolt should be inspected each time when the tower crane is to be mounted and dismounted.
Method of inspection: make sure that the bolts to be checked are not influenced bv
the tension force due to load or counter weights,
Using a torque wrench to check the tightening torque of the bolts coresponds to the
values as listed in Table
l2.l
-1.
Occasional replacement:
one or several
bolts show a tightening torque beyond the minimum and maximum torques as stated
will
ofthe bolts.
Systematic replacement: The screws and bolts used for the slewing ring assembly tlust be systematically replaced every seven years or 14000 hours.
.
