ABMCB-1B Based on what Ive watched last meeting, I can vividly see the evolution of radio and television. How it first started from trash and now operates in a more delightful manner. We can also see the improvement that was happening from time to time. I am proud to say that the radio and television industry were improving very well until now.

TELEVISION Let us first focus on television, it is said that television has been part of our daily living, from the time we woke up until the time we go to sleep. It indeed created a great impact and difference towards every citizens lives. However it may not be always positive, negative effects cannot just simply cast aside. Based on my own observation, television programs/shows are simply experiments, they are just testing every programs as if it would be patronize by people/masses watching it. And if it happens, that particular show/program would last for a longer period of time airing as compared to others. And how will they know that? Well, it is all because of the ratings. Thats why some television networks are competing to a so called rating game to know if their own programs are loved and pleased by the masses as what is written a while ago. In some aspects television programs/shows are constructing a reality on us people which is not actually real through the use of different television shows. They are trying to tell us that we have to watch that particular show because it somehow presents the real status of our society nowadays, you can also relate on it and most probably it is somewhat our society experience, but it is not.

State-owned news agencies, they act as the propaganda arm of the government. Here, you cannot see negative attacks towards the government. It should always be positive and for the good of the state as well. Some people they are just ignoring the television advertisements of government official and those running for a specific position in the government. But it may greatly affect their behavior in voting especially if they dont have any background in a specific politicians which they are about to choose. It is a matter of active and passive audiences also. It may be a little way but I tell you it has a huge influence on citizens. On the other hand it can also be a great source of news. Through the use of television we are able to see the different happenings in and out the government it gives us idea on how our government officials run the state and the like. RADIO Let us now move on to the radio, it is said that it is the most affordable and accessible way in getting news. But how did it all first started? According to what Ive watched, before there are only 10 (more or less) radio stations around the Philippines. But when the businessmen noticed and discovered that it is a good source of income and a worthy business to invest with they opened radio stations also, until it reaches hundreds across the metropolitan areas. The rise of the radio gives so many opportunities. Such as, it opened the door for good actors and actresses on radio (through the use of drama segments), the rise of good journalists as well. It also played a crucial role during Martial Law period; this medium is being used for the Filipinos to unite and to spread the happening that time. They indeed give a public service to the people. But they are still undergoing a digital revolution.
