Aswellaspayingcloseattentiontokeepingchildrensafe, thisserviceprovidesspecialisttargetedassistancetothe mostvulnerablechildrenandyoungpeopleinour community.Thisincludeschildprotection;ensuringthe wellbeingofthosechildrenlookedafterbythelocal authority;residentialhomes;fosteringandadoption; fieldworkservices;mentalhealthservices;educational psychology;schoolnursing;healthimprovement;paediatric therapies;substancemisuseservices;speechandlanguage therapy;learningdisabilitynurses;andintegratedinclusion servicesfordisabledchildrenandthosewithspecial educationalneeds. Theeducationwelfareservicepromotes childrensattendanceandwelfareatschool.

Workisundertakenthroughprogrammeandprojectmanage menttoplananddeliverkeyprioritiesacrossChildrensServices, includingchangemanagement,theefficiency programmeandChildren,YoungPeopleandFamiliesFutures work.Prioritiesatpresentalsoincludeimprovingthedirectorate andTrustperformancemanagementarrangements. Additionally,theAssistantExecutiveDirectorleadingthisarea supportstheexecutivemanagementfunctioninChildrens Servicesandensuresstrongandpositivecollaborationwith corporateinitiativesandpriorities.Currentworkincludes activelycontributingtotheFutureCouncilprogramme.

Strategicservices,partnershipsandcommissioning
Servicesinthisareaofthedirectorateareresponsiblefor allthefunctionsthatsupportservicedelivery,suchas administration,informationtechnology,workforce development,andfordrivingpartnershipworkingbetween thedirectorate,itspartners,andthewidercouncil.
