Use of the Name of God (YH H! in the Ne" #estament$

And the %i&inity of 'es(s (Yesh(a!


Personally, I've encountered many Christians from a number of denominations who question whether Yeshua (Jesus) was just a man, od, or both a man and od! Perha"s their confusion arises because "astors avoid this com"licated subject somewhat# or "erha"s it is because they don't listen to the evidence their "astor $ives them on the subject# or more li%ely it is due to wea%nesses in &n$lish 'ible translations which are confusin$ to the reader on this subject! (ecently I scanned the entire Peshitta )ramaic *ew +estament and "ic%ed out all verses that show the divine name of od (Y,-,) used for Yeshua (Jesus)! +here are over ./ verses that contain this clear messa$e! 0nly the Peshitta )ramaic *ew +estament has the divine name of od (Y,-,)# while the ree% *+ manuscri"ts use kurios (1ord) or theos ( od) in the same "lace where the divine name is used in Peshitta )ramaic *+! ranted, many &n$lish translations try to ma%e a distinction and use 'the 10(2' for the divine name (Y,-,) in the 0ld +estament (the +ana%h)! +he divine name of od (Y,-,) in the te3t is direct evidence for the ree% *+ manuscri"ts bein$ translations from the Peshitta )ramaic *+, and not vice4versa! ) short history of the Peshitta )ramaic *+5 +he a"ostle Peter and other a"ostles went to the very lar$e Jewish community in Iraq ('abylon) and Persia twenty years before Peter went to (ome! 6 Peter 756. records that the boo% was li%ely written while Peter was in 'abylon (89he who is in 'abylon sends you $reetin$s!!!:)! +hey "reached the $os"el and established the church of the *a;arenes there accordin$ to Church of the &ast written history! +heir history also relates that they received the boo%s com"risin$ the Peshitta )ramaic *ew +estament directly from the a"ostles in their native )ramaic! +here was no translation necessary# since the same )ramaic s"o%en in Israel was s"o%en in 'abylon! +his area of the world (Iraq, Persia, and "oints north and east) was never under (oman rule# and Constantine never invited any re"resentatives of the Church of the &ast to the *icean Council of .<7 )2! Consequently, the Church of the &ast maintained the ancient manuscri"ts of the Peshitta )ramaic *+ without (oman or Catholic church interference! =inally, the 9yriac )ramaic manuscri"ts were based out of )ntioch in 9yria and in +ur%ey! (esearch has shown corru"tion of the 9yriac manuscri"ts, while that is not true for the "ristine manuscri"ts maintained by the Church of the &ast (church of the *a;arenes)! >uch scholarly research su""orts "rimacy for the Peshitta )ramaic *+ from the Church of the &ast# and we should be $rateful that we have the ori$inal *+ faithfully %e"t by them! ?e have a written record of certain boo%s bein$ written with ,ebrew letters (written in )ramaic with )shurri bloc% letters, also called ,ebrew@)ramaic bloc% letters) and translated into ree% by the a"ostles! 'isho" Pa"ias of )ntioch wrote, that the a"ostles translated >atthew from the ori$inal )ramaic@Palestinian ,ebrew into ree%, and that it was not a very $ood translation! Clement of )le3andria wrote, that Paul authored the boo% of ,ebrews in ,ebrew (letters), and that 1u%e carefully translated it into ree% for distribution to ree%s! Irenaeus wrote, that >atthew was written in the dialect used by the ,ebrews (Israelis)! Jerome wrote, that Paul bein$ a ,ebrew, wrote in his own ton$ue and most fluently, while thin$s were eloquently turned (translated) into ree%! +he evidence is that the *+ boo%s were authored in )ramaic with ,ebrew@)ramaic bloc% letters boo%s, and translated 6

In the *icene Creed they use the central ree% term, homoousios (of the same substance, or, oneness of substance), to say that the =ather and Yeshua (Jesus) are od! +he semi4)rians tried and failed to $et the Council of *icea to substitute the ree% term, homoiousios (li%e in substance), as a com"romise, but failed! +he semi4)rians also believed that Yeshua (Jesus) was a created bein$ elevated to become od! )s you can tell from use of these ree% terms, the Council of *icea used the ree% *+ manuscri"ts and not the Peshitta )ramaic *+! +he &bionites (denied divinity and vir$in birth of Jesus) are one $rou" in the early church who held the rejected )rian or semi4)rian view"oints! +oday, we have $rou"s who hold views somewhat similar to )rianism5 6!
