Photography Techniques Utilized for Photoshoot

For the portrait photographs I will be taking, I will be utilizing Martin Schoellers portrait photography technique. He has utilized this technique many times and mostly on high pro ile actors and well known people.

Here are se!eral e"amples o his work, as you can see they are bright close ups and are !ery highly detailed. #he lightness and the play ul acial e"pressions can be linked to the genre o comedy, these are connotations that I would want the audiences o my magazine and posters I want to see. I also wanted to do, portraits because there are se!eral people in my ilm, and I want them to ha!e their own poster or my ilm. $n e"ample o this is the Harry %otter ranchise, each character ha!e their own poster slightly showing what type o personality they ha!e.

#his is the result o that set up as you can see it is !ery detailed and allows the audience to read the person personality in some sort o way. &ranted that the photography room, that will be pro!ided or us might not ha!e all the equipment that was utilized I am pretty sure, I can still produce work o the same standard. I also wanted to create a group photo shoot or my magazine ront co!er, or this I want to do it in a similar style amous ilms do their group photoshoot or e"ample'

From this you can see, each character in the ilm has a di erent acial e"pression or posture to show their personality, I want to achie!e this in my photoshoot as well. #hrough researching I ound out that to achie!e a high quality group photo you need to try to arrange your group members so that i you were to draw imaginary lines between their heads, you(d end up with little triangles e!erywhere. $n e"ample o this is the image below'

$nother way to approach the triangles technique is to simply switch your group members around until you don(t ha!e two people o the same height standing ne"t to one another, like this'

)ou can also try using perspecti!e to your ad!antage** +ust mo!e certain members backward or orward rom your camera position so that they appear shorter or taller.
