According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, more Americans aged five to 34 are killed in motor vehicle crashes than from any other single cause. From 2007 to 2009, 112,565 people died in car accidents. The Trust for Americas Health, a nonprofit group, released a report on various causes of injuries and deaths in the United States. Included in that report is a by-state analysis of CDC data on auto fatalities, the costs arising from all fatalities, and the policies states use to prevent car crashes. 24/7 Wall St. reviewed the 10 states that had the highest rates of auto fatalities. 30,000 people are killed in car accidents each year. In 2005, additional costs took an enormous toll on victims families, car crash deaths lead to $41 billion in medical and work loss cost, according to the Centers fo Disease Control and Prventions 2005 report on State-Based Costs of Deaths from Crashes.
