Philippine Christian University Music Club By Laws

Article I. Name
The name of this Organization/Club shall be Philippine Christian University Music and Talents Development.

Article II. Purpose


The PCU-MTD, serving the Philippine Christian University, is committed in helping and raising musical talents of the students within the University. This organization will focus on developing musical instruments knowledge and vocals. The organization will try to discover the hidden talents of the students by engaging them to various professional activities like song recordings, band rehearsals, vocal practice and coachings. The organization will accomplish its mission by providing free instrument tutorials and vocal coaching and by letting them handle physically the instruments that they want to learn (E.G. Piano, Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar)

Article III. Membership


The members of this organization must be currently enrolled student at the University

They can become members by: Invitation Try-outs Appointment by the President/Chairperson Appication Privileges and Responsibilities of Membership:

Voting: Each member is entitled to one vote. Privileges: Each member shall be entitled to all services of the organization. Participation: Each member shall be entitled to participate in all organizational events. Responsibilities: Each member shall be responsible to clean and take care of the instruments/equipments that the organization own. Any damage that will be incurred by the member on the instruments/equipment will make the member liable for it. Audio recordings/Gigs/Performances: These are chosen members of the organization. They are eligible for free song recordings. They can also perform as a group/band during school activities.

Article IV. Membership Meetings


The business meetings of the membership will be held within the University premises. However, it may be held outside the University if there will be an activity outside the Universities jurisdiction. Notification of this meeting shall be made atleast a week prior to said meeting. The President/Chairperson of the organization may call other meetings. Quorum: At all meetings of the organization, a quorum shall consist of the members. (quorum = one half + 1)

Article V. Officers
Philippne Christian University Music and Talents Development shall have the following officers elected from the current membership: President/Producer: Andrew James Francisco Assistant Producer: Talents Manager: Advisors/Coaches Talents Qualifications: The President/Producer shall have been (elected/appointed/self-elected) to the organization and serve until he/she decided to retire. The other officers must be current members of the organization. Duties of Officers: The President/Producer shall preside at all meetings and be responsible for appointing all standing, special, and ad-hoc committees and shall perform such other duties as usually required of this office. The President/Producer of the organization shall be an ex-officio member of all committees. Assistant Producer and Manager shall act in the absence of the in all capacities as listed above and shall assist in conducting the business of the organization. The Talents Manager shall manage the schedule and activities of the talents of the organization. He/She also has the power to kick-out any member as she sees fits with the approval of the President. The Advisors/Coaches shall be responsible for the training of the new members. They have the power to choose the time of when he/will train the student assigned to them. They are also the one who will suggest any possible hidden talents that the student possesses to the Talents Manager, which will also be relayed to the President/Producer. Terms of Office: Officers shall be elected annually by the members or appointed by the President at one of the regular meetings. Elections shall be by ballot and a majority of the votes cast shall elect. Each officer shall take office after 24 hours after the vote has been cast and serve a one-year term and

may be re-elected consecutively to the same office for an additional one-year term. Vacancies and Removal: A vacancy in the office of the President/Producershall be filled by the Assistant Producer unless he or she is unable to serve, at which time the vacancy shall be filled by election of the members by a majority of votes cast. A vacancy in the office of the Assistant Producer shall be left vacant with the President/Producer delegating the duties of that position. Any officer, excluding the President/Producer, may be removed from office or suspended from office by a vote of two-thirds of the members at a regular meeting. Removal or suspension may be with or without cause. The person under consideration shall be given an opportunity to be heard at the meeting with sufficient notice of the proposed removal or suspension, the person under consideration shall not be counted in determining the presence of a quorum not whether the required two-thirds vote has been obtained. Article VI. Committees The President/Producer subject to the approval of the organization, shall appoint such standing, special, or ad hoc committees as may be required by the bylaws, as he or she finds necessary. Committee Chairpersons shall be appointed by and responsible to the President/Producer. A vacancy in a Committee Chairperson position shall be filled by appointment of the President/Producer of the organization with input from the outgoing Committee Chairperson. Article VII. Parliamentary Authority The rules contained in PCU-Music volume 1, shall govern the organization in all cases to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with the bylaws or the special rules of order of the organization. Article VIII. University Policies This organization shall abide by all applicable policies instituted by the Philippine Christian University and the USG. Article IX. Amendments These bylaws may be amended by a vote of two-thirds of the members of the organization present at any regular meeting or at a special meeting called for that purpose. The membership shall be notified of adopted bylaw amendments by the most feasible means.
