INTRODUCTION
India is a country which top in the world if it comes on accident, no matter what kind of accident

it is either road accidents, accident because of gas leakage etc. One of the scariest accidents in the history of India is Bhopal gas tragedy which resulted in the death of thousands of people and even today the newly born babies are not normal. Hence, its very important to take measures in order to avoid these accidents. As our countrymen already witnessed the most heart threaten acci dent thats too a gas leakage tragedy, gas sensors are now used to avoid these kind mishappenings. Gas sensors are employed in a wide range of applications in the fields of safety, health, instrumentation etc. Common examples are domestic or commercial alarms for explosive or toxic gases, or in automotive application as gas leakage detectors for LPG powered cars and exhausts detectors inside any fuel powered truck or car. Such sensors, nowadays, are found also in applications involving air quality control systems, pollution monitoring and are widely used in the field of industries even. Industry is a place where many tasks are performed and in order to perform the task multiple gases are required. Therefore, there is a high chance that a gas can leak because of the availability of them. Hence, gas sensors are employed at various levels i.e. at different heights because some gases are heavier in weight so found in lower level and vice-versa. Gas sensors are playing a vital role in minimizing the mishappenings. As multiple sensors are loaded they keep on indicating whether the gas leakage is there or not and if gas leakage is there then which gas is presently leaking. Once in all, we can say it brings a sense of security in industrial area. In most industries, one of the key parts of any safety plan for reducing risks to personnel and plant is the use of early-warning devices such as gas detectors. These can help to provide more time in which to take remedial or protective action. They can also be used as part of a total, integrated monitoring and safety system for an industrial plant. This work is intended to offer a simple way for the detection of such gas. It provides an explanation of both the principles involved and the instrumentation needed for satisfactory protection of personnel, plant and environment. The primary objective of the proposed system is to provide a novel means for safely detecting any malfunction of a pressurized gas system in order to prevent accumulation of combustible gases so that damage or explosion due to such an accumulation of gases is prevented. In this work we designed a system with the help of MQ 2 gas sensor which can detect the leakage of LPG gas and can turn off the valve automatically and display continually the concentration of gases. we using micro controller IC AT89C52, due to its number of advantages over other micro controller

and microprocessor such as inbuilt 4K electrical erasable programmable memory, 128 byte of RAM, four external and three internal interrupts source, inbuilt two 16 bit timer and it is full software and hardware compatible with industrial stander MC51 family. The software for this project is stored in its EEPROM .Output devices are connected to its input and output port. Outputs from port pins of the microcontroller are fed input pins of LCD and to the motor driver. The microcontroller monitoring the concentration of the gas leakages and display the percentage of concentration through the LCD display. If the concentration of leakage is grater then the reference level then Microcontroller will send the alert through alarm and to modem .It also close the motorized solenoid valve. II. COMPONENTS AND CONSTRUCTION

The proposed system can detect and control the leakage of Gas in industrial environments. This system mainly use in industry. The major hardware interfaces to microcontroller are gas sensor, LCD, Alarm, motorized valve and PC. The primary element of my project is gas sensor. In this designed system using MQ 2 gas sensor. The MQ 2 gas sensors are semiconductor sensor. This semiconductor gas sensor detects the presence of

combustible gas and smoke at concentrations from 300 to 10,000 ppm. The sensors simple analog voltage interface requires only one analog input pin from your microcontroller. This flammable gas and smoke sensor detects the concentrations of combustible gas in the air and outputs its reading as an analog voltage. The sensor can measure concentrations of flammable gas of 300 to 10,000 ppm.The sensor can operate at temperatures from -20 to 50C and consumes less than 150 mA at 5 V. MQ 2 gas sensor has high sensitivity to LPG, Propane and Hydrogen, also could be used to, Methane and other combustible steam, it is with low cost and suitable for different application. It is used in Domestic gas leakage detector, industrial combustible gas detector and in portable gas detector. The characteristics features of MQ 2 gas sensors are high sensitivity to LPG, Propane and Hydrogen, good sensitivity combustible gas in wide range, long life and low cost and simple drive circuit. The output of the MQ 2 gas sensors in the form of the voltage. The output of the gas sensor given to the microcontroller through the analog to digital converter. This analog to digital converter converts the analog form of the gas sensor output to the digital. In this using ADC0809 analog to digital converter. The 8-bit analog to digital converter uses successive approximation as the conversion technique. The converter features a high impedance chopper stabilized comparator, a 256R voltage divider with analog switch tree and a successive approximation register. The brain of my present work is the microcontroller. In this designed system AT89C52 microcontroller is using. The AT89C52 is a low-power, high-performance CMOS 8-bit microcomputer with 8K bytes of Flash programmable and erasable read only memory. The microcontroller gets the concentration of the leakage of the gases in the air through the pipe line. It will monitor the concentration of the gases continuously through the LCD. And also given to the controller room through RS 232. If the leakage concentration is higher than the reference level microcontroller control the valve and it switch ON the alarm for the users.

III. SYSTEM OPERATION

This system is used for the detection of the gas leakage. Hence it install any place for detection then it will continuously sense for the presence of gas. It detects it presence it will send the signal in response of it to the microcontroller. Microcontroller is acting like a control panel of this system. Now in response of input signals execution take place in the microcontroller it will give the concentration of gases continuously displaying through the LCD and if the concentration is higher than the normal then alert tone will be generated with the help of alarm and also the signals will be send to the motor driver to close the valve. The microcontroller sends the data to the PC in the control room for the analyzing.

IV. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

While functioning of the proposed work in an artificial environment setting the gas leakage detection system monitor the leakage. In the abnormal condition it alarms and simulates the closing of valve. And also it sends the data to the PC. The proposed set up of gas leakage detection system was successfully monitored and controls the leakage of the LPG. It can be further extended for various area of application

V. CONCLUSION
Embedded systems are emerging as a technology with high potential. In the past decades microprocessor based embedded system ruled the market. The last decade witnessed the revolution of microcontroller based embedded systems. This work basically deals with the detection of leakage of gases, alarming the people if concentration of leak age is very high, with the help of microcontroller and it also control the valve through the driving circuit. The proposed work Design an embedded system for gas leakage detection and control system has been successfully designed and tested. From this work I can conclude that this is permanently installed system capable of detecting minutest gas leakage and prevent hazardous problems. This can be implemented at low cost and manpower is not required.
