Designed for reliability and easy maintenance with a plunger located on each side of the car and a sheave guided by a set of plunger rails. Ropes are fastened to the top of jack stands and the bottom of the car frame. Furnished with an instantaneous safety that is activated by a friction governor and governor-tension sheave. The governor is remotely set from the machine room during testing and automatically resets after powering in the up direction. As a result, a hoistway access door is not required.

APPLICATIONS

Ideal for installation at sites with known subterranean risks, waterfront sites and sites with high-water tables. The roped hydraulic is also ideal for existing buildings because the jacks are half the length of the rise and can be easily moved into tight spaces.

Otis introduced the Roped Hydraulic in 1878. Driven by city water pressure, it represented the majority of units until electric power became more readily available. It remains today the standard hydraulic offering in Europe and other parts of the world.
