A program 'as 'ritten to encode the abo(e .. r les# and to apply the r les on the gi(en data. ,hen looking at each chart# the program 'o ld emit 9yes: if a partic lar r le 'as satisfied on the chart# or 'o ld emit 9no:. 7he res lt 'as then loaded into Miscosoft *+cel ; program for a man al interpretation of the res lts. <nstead of merely stopping 'ith this# 'e decided to go one step f rther. ,hat if the data sets 'e sed 'ere not acc rate eno gh= Altho gh the charts 'ere rated 9AA:# 'e did not 'ant to e+cl de the possibility of marginal error in the birth time. ,e adopted a fairly no(el approach here. &ince the focal point of o r analysis 'as the %th c sp# 'e decided to consider t'o more time points for each chart 'here the %th 0&3 'as the 9pre(io s: s blord# or the 9ne+t: s blord. ,e sed a ma+im m time offset of .$ min tes from the gi(en time since 'e did not belie(e the birth time co ld be off by more than that inter(al in each direction. >or instance# if the %th 0&3 for the gi(en birth time 'as J piter# the program comp ted the time 'hen the %th 0&3 'as Rah ?pre(io s s blord/ and the time 'hen the %th 0&3 'as &at rn ?ne+t s blord/. <t then applied all the .. r les to these t'o 9hypothetical: charts.
