December 2, 2013 To the Business Club for Democracy, I received and read your November 29 letter to the People

of the United States which was delivered to our embassy in Bangkok by Korn Chatikavanij. Since Im an American citizen, I have decided to take the time to reply because, frankly, everybodys been too damn polite about this nonsense so far. Actually, I are rather happy that Mr. Chatikavanij delivered the letter personally because it shows me that there is a government position in which he can actually be of some benefit to the public... postman. He certainly sucked as Finance Minister. You stated that Thailand witnessed a series of peaceful demonstrations, with up to a million people participating at times. From the videos and pictures we have seen here in the US, these demonstrations hardly seem peaceful and it doesnt look like you have anywhere near a million people. Although we admit that its hard to tell just how peaceful and how many people there were with all that tear gas hindering our view. Nonetheless, there you are, as you say, venting your frustration and displeasure. If you were truly democratic and peaceful then you would vent your frustration and displeasure at the polls during election time like civilized folks. Of course, protesting is part of democracy, but going crazy ass bonkers in the streets trying to overthrow a democracy isnt what we would call democratic. This theater that is being produced now in Bangkok doesn't even make for authentic public discourse. We researched this Civil Movement for Democracy (CMD) group you brought up and could find nothing Civil about them nor do we find that they have anything to do with Democracy. They may be able to make a case that they are a movement only if the word bowel is attached. To us, theyre nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and murderers, an unruly mob fed by right wing royalist nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. What these clowns are doing is nothing short of a clumsy, poorly-expressed attempt at anarchy in order to force a change in government without an election. This can do nothing but harm your country. This is no popular uprising. This is garbage. And goodness knows theyre spewing their garbage both politically and physically every which way they can find. Maybe Mr. Chatikavanij can pick up some of this trash along his postal route. Were glad you admitted that you can tolerate poor public policies and management, and even weakening governance. You must also tolerate a great deal of graft, corruption and malfeasance as well if you have chosen Suthep Thaugsuban as the leader of your cause.

But evidently you cant tolerate the amnesty bill (which didnt even pass). We suppose you think that amnesty is only good enough for military generals when they topple a democratically elected government via coup dtat and not good enough for the people who oppose them. It also seemed to us in your letter that you were unhappy with the Constitutional Amendment that tried to make for a fully elected Senate instead of the half elected and half appointed body that currently exists. If this is so then we fail to understand why you believe you are democratic. And we also fail to understand how the Yingluck Governments refusal to express regret, or show any responsibility for its actions is seen as abusing its powers and a reflection of its increasing hubris. Your demand for an apology seems very inappropriate to us. You call us your friend and close ally. Well, your friend and close ally is still pissed off at you for arresting our citizen, Joe Gordon, and throwing him in prison. You claim jurisdiction over free speech performed by a US citizen from within US borders and on servers in the US and yet you still seek our understanding on why you want to overthrow your government. Maybe, between bouts of self-pity and all the other tasty tidbits of narcissism youve been served up in your sheltered, comfy little worlds, youve heard terms like freedom of speech and freedom of expression. They are fundamental parts of a democracy. Those are causes you should be protesting for first. If you dont want to do that then, in the name of decency, just go home, you losers. Because as Americans, as human beings, as mammals with every fiber of our being, we are looking forward to the end of the rabid fascism that continues to haunt Thai society. And that is you. Schmucks!
