Damen Quick Docking/ Fuel Saving Package Damen Shiprepair & Conversion has developed a new package that offers fast and low-cost docking with the aim of reducing fuel consumption. Hull resistance builds up over time, raising fuel costs. Damen Shiprepair & Conversion, by introducing this product, is showing that they know that fuel consumption is an issue for owners of marine vessels and that they are on the same page. Through this package, antifouling and fresh coatings are added to improve hull performance, propellers are given a super-high polish, and the yard fine-tunes the main engine. Goris, who is the Managing Director of the company, says, Inside and out, everything is optimized for efficient fuel consumption. By improving the engine and propulsion line and applying the coatings, the vessels performance is improved considerably. The fuel-saving docking takes as little as a few days and practically pays for itself within a few months. thereby leaving a smaller carbon-footprint, while simultaneously allowing a work truck to carry more equipment. Home Study for Mariners Sorenson is now offering home study programs for mariners who often have trouble finding time to train during their little off time. This program can help train everyone from deck officers to engineers. This program (the 500/1600 Master/Mate Inland or Near Coastal program) prepares mariners to earn their licenses on vessels under 500 or 1600 gross tons and operating within inland or near coastal waters.
