Dear Sir,
Sub. :
H2HiC Bell type furnaces for annealing of cold rolled strip coils
With reference to the talk you had with us we are revising the technical and commercial offer based on the following.
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
You have asked us to indicate the production figures for 1 mm thk reference coils You have mentioned that the majority of your requirement will be for approximately 1 mm thk sheets and there is as such no need for additional convectors for thinner gauges. Even if it is required it niay be fot only 1_ 2 bases However as requested by you we are giving prices for 21 convectors ( for all 7 bases) Extra price of 1 No of additional cooling hood given separately is now the part of the main commercial offer. Extra price for adding 1 Base and 1 inner cover and associated components to make it a 4-Heating hoods, 4 cooling hoods, g Bases installation is given in commercial offer. Utility requirement / Generating plant capacity and also the storage volume is updated based on availability of 1 7 Kgs / sq cm N2 pressure, eithlr 10 Kgs sq cm or 5 Kgs i sq cm pressure.
We trust the information provided above is clear in all respects. We are very keen to be associated with a fast growing company like yours and keenly waiting to meet you and discuss to take it
foruard.

High Productivity
The productivity of the equipment is depends on charge weight and annealing cycle time. Keeping the charge weight same, H2 itmosphere result in shorter annealing cycle time and hence higher productivity compared to Nitrogen atmosphere annealing. 95% N2,

High Convection
Hydrogen has very low density (0.09 kgs /m3) and better dynamic viscosity compared to Nitrogen density (1.21 kgs/m3) and viscosity. Considering the lower load for H2 atmosphere (for a fixed rpm), while using H2 atmosphere, the base fan speed can be increased for a given power of base motor resulting improved convection.
Uniformity of properties
lncreased convection (High convection) and befter conductivity of H2 result in uniform temperature within the charge material which in turn result in uniform properties of the material being annealed.

Safeties
Hydrogen atmosphere annealing is absolutely safe thanks to specialized equipment and automatic control system interlocks through pLC.
will be incorporated using high level automation and sequences controlled by the PLC logic for the operation of the hydrogen atmosphere annealing Furnace installation. Some of the safeties considered for ihe installation are listed below.
Safetie_s
Tightness test Tightness of the annealing atmosphere will be checked at the start ofthe cycle and the purging of the atmosphere will start only when the tightness of the base is found okay.
.
1
purging Both initial and final purge will be done using Nitrogen. Safety is ensured by calculating the time for this purge and the minlmum flow rate. 02
Analysis
is checked for completion of N2 purge sequence.

Base Pressure
.oY-y'
(,|"1',*'
Base pressure will be monitored continuously during the cycle and the inlet to the annealing atmosphere switched over to Nitrogen in case the pressure drop below 90 mm WC.
Fail safe operation
All the valves selected for the installation will be fail safe in operation. Transmitters of reputed makes like Rosemount
Error test will be carried out at the sta( of the each cycle Speclal Hydraulic system with locking feature for enra safety
l(u't".
tz
High levels of safety using the pLC interlock to avoid manual interventions.
2 different outlet lines are considered for the protective gas ouflet (one for N2 + H2 and other for N2 + Air)
Excellent sealing arrangement between inner cover flange & base flange by means of superior quality elastomer seal.

The details of the already executed cycle will be available from the Archive option using anneal No. Performance of each charge is noted and the reports will also be made equipment-wise, month-wise, date-wise, year-wise for comparison. Separate production charts also will be made available for showing the daily account of coils loaded, unloaded and under annea'ling. Archiving is made possible and most of the data which are in the database can be stored and retrieved. Data for the last 12 months will be stored in the system and can be retrieved
The set point data entered by the supervisor, the temperature and the atmosphere tracks will be worked with the coil data to get the actual cooling and heating limes for the charge. The model will also decide the initial and final purging times with the definite flow rate.
lnterlock for Maximum charge weight, Minimum charge weight, Maximum coil OD, Minimum and Maximum thickness, Maximum width of the coils etc will be provided for the coils selection for a cycle. The supervisor will decide the program for an anneating cycle depending on the quality requirements of the linished product and the type of raw material using the various set points as well as the temperature and the atmosphere tracks (of 9 segments each). Uniformity of the properties is quite assured in this method as the operators are not involved in selting the set points and the entire control is with the supervisor. Manual interventions will be possible from the process data output mask by pressing the Enter key. This will be possible only if the supervisor is logged on. The idea is to avoid the pperator changing the cyclbs, which would affect the ,^rrl[roperties of the material.
