MTECH PROJECT WORK Performance Enhancement of Power Grid using FACT devices: - Optimal location of Facts device (SVC) so as to minimize the system real power losses is found out on an IEEE standard system, for which SVC is modeled and its performance is evaluated using a tool box in Matlab, known as PSAT. The optimal location is found out using Matlab coding with the help of an

optimization technique known as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO).
