Baroque Era Paintings The paintings have shown a common denominator as manifested in their theme which all centred

to Catholicism. It is evident that in the paintings, the concept of faith had been placed as landmarks characterized of vivid, yet solemn symbolisms. The paintings can be construed as representations of the popularizing culture during that time which was the inclination to zealous art pieces. In the first painting which is the The Elevation of the Cross by Peter Paul Rubens, the artist showed dynamic forms and shapes that though are somewhat distorted still had transcended into perceivable sort of life. The muscled men, in indeed shocking colours, while bearing Christs Cross lifted exhausted some kind of translucent connection. It had able to show the emotion through fine details of articulations and shapes making the painting really conclusive. The tension on the scene is evident and it is developed through the every projection created in the painting. The next painting is the Virgin of Guadalupe by Sebastian Salcedo. This has

practically the most differences in which to be deduced as compared to the other two paintings. It has a different focus. In this painting the centrepiece is the Virgin of Guadalupe surrounded by prophets, saints, angels and miniature scenes of her miracles. The painting if compared to the previous has a large drawn out canvass. Symbolically speaking, it has so vast scope that your angles of analysis can vary from time to time. The bewilderedness of the forms and shapes, plus the seemingly fading hues, all together created a so melancholic manifestation that can trigger more than anything else but the emotion of the persons looking at it. The last painting is the Calvary by Abraham Janssens. This is a quite similar to that of the fist painting. They both portray the suffering of Christ. However, analyzing it deeply, it can

be seen that this painting conveys a more relaxing mood. The colours of the painting were dominated by blue which can be perceived as exuding soothing practicality. The shapes and forms in here are least distorted making the over-all painting just that so smooth and plain to look at. In all, the three paintings are stunning in their own ways. What makes them exalted is not only their theme, but also in their minute details that can be arrogantly claimed as to been crafted skilfully. The colours and shades are blended in the manner that it makes the paintings so alive. The projections and emotions are also matched in the curves and shapes of the characters, keeping intense the every sentiment it.
