Exploratory Test Session – 8 for WireMaster v0.

46

Test Mission: To find the information of which (might) trouble and seems like a problem to
the user while using WireMaster v0.46.

Model under Test: WireMaster v0.46 | http://sourceforge.net/projects/wiremaster/

Tester: Ravisuriya
Session-ID: 15thAug2009-s8
Test Machine: Windows XP SP3 | English US
Start Test Date and Time: 20th August 2009 7:12 PM.
End Test Date and Time: 20th August 2009 8:20 PM.

Observations or Information:
----------------------------------

1. The outer border line of the container will not be completely visible when resizing the
container area, while constructing the wireframe diagram.

2. Observed a behavior where it was unable to move the added and available components
in the diagramming area. This is observed consistently.

3. Looks like there is no restriction on number of characters entered in the ‘Add

Annotation’ dialog fields – Label, User Action, System Response and Notes. And the button
‘create’ in this dialog begins with lower case alphabet letter ‘c’. Appears as no short cut key to
this button ‘create’. While editing the available annotation, in the dialog Edit Annotation,
button ‘save’ began with lower alphabet letter and this button had no shortcut key.

4. To open such annotation which was having huge number of characters in its field, made
the model under test to go into non-response state. This was one of the show stopper
witnessed in model under test.

5. Hitting ‘Tab’ key of keyboard in the field ‘Label’ of Add Annotation dialog moves the
cursor to the User Action Text Area. Hitting the ‘Tab’ key while the cursor is in User Action
field, does not move the cursor to the System Response field, instead it moves ahead in the
same field. Same with the behavior with System Response field too. This can be confusing to
the user, where once tab moves cursor to the next field and next time it does move cursor to the
next field.

6. The dialog Add Annotation and Edit Annotation can be resized such that no contents of
it will be visible.

7. Seems like time taken by model under test while editing and saving the annotation was
more than 3 minutes, if the number of characters in the Annotation fields exceeded 99999
plus.

8. Upon saving the wireframe data being viewed, the saved file name will not appear on the
title bar of model under test for the being viewed wireframe diagram.

9. An option should be given to user to associate label name of a component in Add

Annotation or Edit Annotation dialog. If the user has already added the label component with a
name for it for the other component that was dragged and dropped in the diagramming field
and now user wants to use the same named label in the annotation’s label field – it was not
possible. This might be useful to user if given an option to associate such component label.

10. Empty annotation can be created, edited and saved for a component.

11. Instead of saying ‘Page Element Description’ as in below picture, if said with page title
(name) that was given while generating wireframe, would be more meaningful.

12. Previous entered characters in the Generate Wireframe dialog will be retained still for
the new wireframe that will be generated.

13. No warning or overwrite message shown to the user for wireframe generation and
saving the wireframe data.

14. Snaps of interesting behavior by model under test:
