Sinceitsinceptionin1991,theCAUSELeadershipAcademy(formerlycalledCASIC, CaliforniaAsianAmericanStudentInternshipCoalition)haspreparedelitestudentleaders tobeintheforefrontofCalifornia'slegislativearena.Thisprogramisespeciallydedicated todevelopingtheleadershipskillsofcollegestudentswhoareinterestedinexploringa careerinpublicoffice,publicserviceorcommunityadvocacy.

OnSaturday,March2ndCAUSEparticipatedinArsaylyn's2ndAnnualStudentsAdvocatingfor VoterEmpowerment(S.A.V.E.)YouthTownHallForumatCalPolyPomona.Over200students fromvariousSanGabrielValleyhighschoolsattendedthedaylongconference,whichfocused onyouthcivicengagementandprofessionaldevelopment.

abouttheimportanceofnetworking.Additionally,CAUSEvolunteerWendyZhenggavea talkaboutnetworkingandleadershipdevelopment.Bothoftheirtalksincludedhelpfulhints onmaintainingrelationshipswithpeopleintheprofessionalworld,emphasizingthat,for youngleaders,itis"whatyouknowandwhoyouknow"thatwillgarnernumerous opportunitiesinone'slifeandcareerpath.
