Avoid placing yourself at risk by traveling alone or socializing with strangers in unfamiliar surroundings. Do not go to night clubs, accept drinks from strangers or leave your drink unattended. Avoid excessive drink as this increases risk of accident and attack. Evening meals: travel as a group, Inform the organizer of your intended venue and your intended time of return.
Please do not return to the hostel later than 12.00 midnight. There is a very pleasant bar in the hostel for your use till late. Please keep the conversation noise level low in the bedrooms. Theft Make sure you have a case, travel bag that can be securely locked. Do not travel alone or late at night, keep to the itinerary routes. Professional thieves and pickpockets look to tourists as easy targets. Be aware on the underground and tourist areas. Do not carry unnecessary valuables, such as passport, expensive jewellery. Equipment, such as cameras are best carried in an ordinary shoulder bag rather than in a specialist camera bag which calls attention to the camera. Keep your bags close to you. Backpacks are easy targets for theft of valuables. In the event of a bag snatch do not attempt to fight an assailant as this may endanger you, they may be carrying and willing to use a knife. In the event of a theft inform the group leader and report the theft at the nearest police station. Fire Drink Do not smoke or light candles in bedrooms.
