21 SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
AUGUST 23RD 2009
PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED: We pray for our loved ones who have died recently.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek
God’s healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home. May your struggle
be consoled by Christ’s love“.

TEN THINGS THAT MAKE FOR A GREAT CATHOLIC DAD

1. Keep Holy the Lord’s Day...and All those Other Days (Exodus 20:8) - “In too many homes Mom is the
keeper of the faith.”
2. Teach Your Children Faith (John 20:29) - Faith is best learned by example.
3. Don’t Forget Forgiveness (Matthew 18:21-22) - It opens our heart to God’s love.
4. Give and Let Give (Proverbs 28:27) - Sharing our gifts and talents with others.
5. Play and Have Fun (Luke 18:16-17) - We can enjoy what God has created.
6. Get Caught Praying (Luke 11:1) - Be an example of talking and listening to God.
7. Be “Mr. Doesn’t Know –It-All” (Psalm 139:5-7) - So...I am not God.
8. Might for Right (2 Corinthians 13:7-8) - Being different is OK!
9. Let It Shine, Let It Shine, Let It Shine (Matthew 5:14-16) - Thank God for everything always.
10. Traditionnnnn! Tradition! (1 Corinthians 11:2) - Ashes to ashes …we live with the signs of our
religious heritage.
