Nature of the Community


GVNML started as a group of vibrant youths of Laporiya village in 1977. Laporia is a small village of Dudu block of Jaipur district in Rajasthan. Located in a semi arid area, Laporiya have been agro- pastorals and their livestocks subsists on the pastures of the area. The group of youth was very much concerned about the degrading condition of environment resulting crisis of water and fodder. This all made them to initiate voluntary action for repairing the existing water harvesting structures and developing common pastures in the village. The important feature of this action was Shramdan by villagers. This was the start of GVNML through collective efforts of the community. These efforts continued and many dimension added with them as time passes. This group of vibrant youths registered as non-governmental organization under Rajasthan Society Registration Act, 1958 by name of Gram Vikas Navyuwak Mandal, Laporiya (GVNML) in 1986. And this all happened under the leadership of Shri Laxman Singh Ji, the one amongst the youths.

Major Assignment Handled


Session handled: - Regarding to Youth Skill Development and Vocational Training some of the session handled by us. Like told about the different-different had an opportunity. So they can got the job according to qualification. Sramdan (): - The student social worker done Sramdan (voluntary work). During the block field work every day done sramdan cleaning the campus. Programmed exposure visit to SWRC Tiloniya and Central University of Rajasthan: - During the Youth Skill Development and Vocational Training made the programmed schedule and visited the Social Work Research Center, Tiloniya and then Central Univarsity of Rajasthan, Bandarsindri. To known about the nature and infrastructure of the both of institutions. Report writing: - We written the report that Youth Skill Development and Vocational Training. Organized the youth meeting: - Student social worker organized the youth meeting to known about the youth challenges. Attended one day workshop of Dudu-Bisalpur Drinking Water Programme: Student social worker went to Lawa village panchyat in Malpura Block in Tonk District. There attended one day workshop its on the importance of drinking water.

Help the team: - During the block field work we helped the organization team and service team in various programmed like Primary Health Center upgrading programmed and village fair. Made natural tree guards: - During the block the mostly work of the made a natural tree guards through cut the unwanted branches of the trees and protected new planted trees.

Had visited and worked: - During the block the student social worker had visited and done voluntary worked in the Dev Bani of Laporiya village, Kurad Bani of Kurad village, Balaji Temple Gagardu village, Maataji Temple Nagar, Pastureland and Chouka-System of the different-different villages like Laporiya, Nagar, Rahalana, Kachnriya, Kumahriya, Gagardu, Kurad and etc. Hosted visit: - During the block field work the GVNML organization provide an opportunity to host the visit of Foreigners and Guru Teg Bahudar 3rd Sinatory School Mansarowar Delhi and discuss about the organization work for the environment.

Professional Growth and Development due to Block Field Work Training


Learned the management skills Learned leadership skills Learned how to talked with the villagers and mobilize them How to gain knowledge from higher authority Learned how to work at grass root level How to host the visits Exposure to block field work Relationship skills for building a good relations Importance of communication. Use of theoretical knowledge to practice


MOA: - Student social worker used theoretical knowledge in practice during Block Field Work and understood the Memorandum of Association of Gram Vikas Navyuvak Mandal Laporiya. Society Registration Act-1860: - The organization where we are placed during the block field work in September-2013 this is also registered under the Society Registration Act1860. Organization Culture: - Student social worker read in theory the each and every organization had different-different culture. During the block field work we understood the organization rules and regulations, norms, values, vision, mission and ethics. Planning: - during the block field work planning word used many time to fulfill the objectives. Management: - During the block field work the management in each and every situation like mostly time and using minimum resources.

Self Motivation
Natural tree guard: - During the block field work using the natural resources and protect to environment in minimum resources those are available in the surrounded area and also good for the environment. This technique is used in minimum cost and they dont have need of the iron made tree guard. Because they made natural tree guard through the unwanted branches of the trees. Open Bird Zoo: - A particular restricted or safe area for birds and insects. There no one gone to disturb to them. Chouka-System, Pastureland and Jungle hall: - During the block field work the student social worker understood and motivates the technique is used is different because no one feels unsecure and development of the pastureland, increasing or recharge the ground water level. And provide the roof to Gwal (milkmen) through Jungle Hall concept. They feel secure and safe in pastureland also. Working style: - The student social worker observed and understood that working style is in traditional way or working with people and grass root level. And motivate through this style is not matter the way of working is matter. But as professional social worker student its working style also good. Sradha-Karmi: - It means if any one donate his or her work called Sradha-Karmi. In social work terms its called volunteer.

Independence and self reliance


During the block field work student social worker done work independently. But sometimes dependent on the faculty supervisor and field supervisor.

Responsibility and discipline


Student social worker during the block field work taken responsibility and done the work with the discipline. The faculty supervisor Mr. Dandub Palzor Negi (Assistant Professor) told if any work done with responsibility and discipline that work easy and interesting and also done in a particular time.

Inter-Personal Competency/Communication
The student social worker during the block field work had communication with co-worker, faculty supervisor, agency supervisor in verbal and nonverbal way. When faced the problem contact to field supervisor and faculty supervisor and discuss with them. They are helped to any challenges faced the social worker student and also provide the solution.

Use of Supervisory Guidance


The student social worker used the supervisory guidance from faculty supervisor Mr. Dandub Palzor Negi and agency supervisor Mr. Ramjilal Tailor in each and every situation when we faced challenges and problem during the block field work. He also visited the organization and guided to us activities and also appraised our work. He also guided in report writings and also has liberally provided time of 10 days for writing the reports. Thus his guidance at the time of block field work and after was very helpful and he is continuously guiding us.

Writing Records
Daily report writing: - During the block field works wrote the daily reports for evaluation and understood the field work and develop the writing skills. Programmed report writing: - Wrote the report of Youth Skill Development and Vocational Training, one day workshop report, exposure and host visited. Weekly summary report: - during the block field work the student social worker wrote the weekly summary reports evaluation and known about the work in short time.

Challenges Faced in Fulfilling Block Field Work Objectives and Efforts used to overcome
Health: - During the block field work student social worker faced the fever and rashes problem. Because we worked in the rain to achieved the task or complete the task in time period. Transportation: - In that area where we placed the transportation problem also faced. Because there no one private and govt. facilities are not available and area also semi-arid. Hospitality: - During the block field work the student social worker prepared the food and eat. Each and every work related to the hospitality done by us. Mostly time we are busy in the field work and reached late night then prepare the food and eat. So just because of that we faced the problem and challenges to report writing or the time to physical rest.
