ELECTRO OPTICAL SENSORS

Electro-optical sensors are electronic detectors that convert light, or a change in light, into an electronic signal. Detectivity is a figure of merit providing the same information as NEP but Describes the characteristics such that the lower the radiation level to which the photo detector can respond, the higher the detectivity. [Where, NEP ; Noise Equivalent Power] REASON FOR USE IN SENSING MOTION, LIGHT, TEMPERATURE, PRESSURE etc, Spectral Response Characteristics.
Near-Infrared Spectral Responses for Photoemissive Devices :photoemitters have responsivity that extends usefully into the near infrared ( approximately to 1.2 micrometer)

Explanation and Working

CHOSEN APPLICATION OF ELECTRO OPTICAL SENSORS: AIRBORNE SYSTEMS

It is a special type of application of opto-electronic devices which work based on quantum physics.

It generates a aerial view ground image based on light spectra arrangement and absorption, it transmits a light radiation, and on reflection from ground , it absorbs the light spectra and describes the state of the region i.e., whether it is vegetative region , draught affected region or any calamities prone region.

This factor of absorption, and emission of light spectra mainly depends upon certain factors such as Noise Equivalent Power, Detectivity, Quantum Efficiency, wavelength etc.
